Dear ECC Families,
Thank you to all our families who helped us celebrate National Walk to School Day on
Wednesday with a lovely walk around the Circle. The weather cooperated and we all enjoyed
the opportunity for a little exercise and fresh air. If the weather cooperates on October 31 st, we
will be able to enjoy our Halloween Parade outdoors too!
There are no classes for District 401 schools on Monday, October 10 th in honor of Columbus
Day.
All ECC students will participate in our fall field trips this coming week. Kindergarten students
will be going to Goebbert’s Pumpkin Farm on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Preschool
students will all visit the Brookfield Zoo on Friday.
The Elmwood Park Fire Department will host ECC Kindergarten students on Friday at the fire
station to raise safety awareness. This visit is most definitely a highlight of the year for our
students. Preschool students will visit the E.P.F.D. on Monday, October 17 th.
Orders for the ECC-PTO “Popcorn Palace” are due Friday, October 14 th. This is one of only a few
fundraisers the ECC-PTO will hold this year. We appreciate your enthusiasm for this great
fundraiser.
Our Teacher Star of the Week is Mrs. Bocka. This is Mrs. Bocka’s 14 th year teaching her favorite
grade level, Kindergarten, at the ECC. Mrs. Bocka and her husband live in Elmwood Park. Their
four children graduated from EPHS and universities in Illinois. Mrs. Bocka is licensed in Early
Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, English As
A Second Language, and Administration. Mrs. Bocka loves to travel, be outdoors, laugh, and

Braglia, Adrian Shemitraku, Jeremiah Diaz, Courtney Walenter, and Melissa Cruz.
Our PreK Stars of the Week are – Jennifer Reyes Arreola, Adrian Canedo, Gabriel Legarreta,
Sophie Nijmeh, Patryk Rutkowski, Jawid Safdary, and Kinga Lowicz.
***A note from Nurse Nitti – It’s time to get your flu shots. Everyone over 6 months of age can
benefit from a flu shot. Call your doctor’s office, or retailers like Walgreens, CVS, or Meijers,
and get yours today!

Estimadas familias del Centro ECC,
Queremos agradecer a todas las familias que cooperaron en celebrar el
Día Nacional de Caminar a la Escuela el miércoles, con una maravillosa caminata alrededor del
Círculo. Las temperaturas cooperaron muchísimo y todos disfrutamos de la oportunidad de
poder hacer un poco de ejercicio y de disfrutar de un poco de aire fresco. ¡Si las temperaturas
cooperan lo suficiente, el 31 de octubre, podremos disfrutar de nuestra Parada de Halloween
alrededor del Círculo!
No habrá clase para todas las escuelas del Distrito 401 el lunes, 10 de octubre, en honor al Día
de Cristóbal Colón.
Todos nuestros estudiantes del Centro ECC estarán participando en nuestros paseos de otoño
esta semana que viene. Los estudiantes del Kindergarten estarán visitando la Finca de
Calabazas Goebbert, el martes o miércoles. Los estudiantes del Preescolar, estarán visitando el
Zoológico Brookfield el viernes.
El Departamento de Bomberos de Elmwood Park, estará recibiendo a los estudiantes del
Kindergarten del Centro ECC el viernes, en la estación de bomberos para aumentar la
conciencia hacia la seguridad. Esta visita es definitivamente el momento más emocionante del
año para nuestros estudiantes. Los estudiantes del preescolar estarán visitando el
Departamento de Bomberos de Elmwood Park, el lunes 17 de octubre.
Las órdenes para el “Popcorn Palace” de la PTO-ECC, se vencen el viernes 14 de octubre. Este
es solo uno de las pocas actividades para recaudar fondos que la PTO- ECC estará llevando a
cabo este año. Apreciamos muchísimo su entusiasmo hacia esta grandiosa actividad de
recaudación de fondos.
Nuestra maestra Estrella de la Semana es la Señora Bocka. Este es el año número 14 de la
Señora Bocka de estar ensenando su grado favorito, el Kindergarten en el Centro ECC. La
Señora Bocka y su esposo viven en Elmwood Park. Sus cuatro hijos se graduaron de EPHS y de
Universidades aquí en Illinois. La Señora Bocka es licenciada en Educación Temprana, Educación
Elemental, Educación Secundaria, Educación Especial, inglés como segundo idioma y
Administración. ¡La Señora Bocka le encanta viajar, estar afuera al aire libre, reír y LEER!

***Una nota de nuestra enfermera la Señora Nitti – Es tiempo para vacunarse para prevenir la
influenza. Todos de edad de 6 meses en adelante pueden beneficiarse de la vacuna contra la
influenza. ¡Llame a la oficina de su doctor o establecimientos como Walgreens, CVS, o Meijers
para obtener la suya hoy!
Los exámenes de los ojos del kindergarten se vencen el 15 de octubre.

Dziekuje wszystkim rodzinom, ktore pomogly nam swietowac Narodowy Dzien Spaceru w ostatnia
srode, spacerujac dookola naszego “kolka”. Pogoda nam dopisala, wiec mielismy okazje cieszyc sie
swiezym powietrzem i odrobina ruchu przed rozpoczeciem zajec. Jesli pogoda dopisze nam rowniez 31
pazdziernika, parada z okazji Halloween tez odbedzie sie na zewnatrz.
W poniedzialek, 10 pazdziernika, swietujemy Dzien Kolumba. Wszystkie szkoly naszego dystryktu 401
beda zamkniete.
W nadchodzacym tygodniu wszyscy uczniowie ECC wezma udzial w jesiennych wycieczkach szkolnych.
Uczniowie klas zerowych we wtorek lub we srode pojada na dyniowa farme - Goebbert’s Pumpkin Farm.
Przedszkolaki odwiedza w piatek Brookfield Zoo.
W piatek uczniowie klas zerowych goszczeni beda przez Straz Pozarna Elmwood Park. Strazacy przybliza
nam temat bezpieczenstwa przeciwpozarowego. Wizyta w budynku strazy jest zdecydowanie jedna z
najbardziej oczekiwanych przez naszych uczniow. Przedszkolaki odwiedza E.P.F.D. w poniedzialek, 17
pazdziernika.
W piatek, 14 pazdziernika, oczekujemy na zamowienia na popcorn zwiazane z inicjatywa i zbiorka
pieniedzy naszej organizacji ECC-PTO, “Popcorn Palace”. Jest to jedna z kilku akcji umozliwiajacych
zbieranie dodatkowych funduszy na rzecz naszej szkoly organizowanych przez ECC-PTO w tym roku
szkolnym. Dziekujemy wszystkim za zaangazowanie i entuzjazm.
Gwiazda tygodnia wsrod naszych nauczycieli jest pani Bocka. Ten rok szkolny jest juz 14-tym rokkiem
pracy pani Bocka w ECC, z jej ulubiona klasa – klasa zerowa. Pani Bocka i jej maz mieszkaja w Elmwood
Park. Ich czworo dzieci ukonczylo nauke w liceum w Elmwood Park i uniwersytety w stanie Illinois. Pani
Bocka ma uprawnienia do nauczania w klasach edukacji wczesnoszkolnej, szkoly podstawowej,
gimnazjum, edukacji specjalnej, jezyka angielskiego jako drugiego, a takze licencje administracyjna. Pani
Bocka kocha podrozowac, spedzac czas na swiezym powietrzu, smiec sie i CZYTAC!
