CCHD is committed to accountability and transparency.
We allocate funds to community projects that promote
the mission and vision of CCHD and the Catholic
Church while adhering to the moral and social teaching
of the Church. Please visit www.usccb.org (search

list of our most recent grants. CCHD’s primary source
of support is an annual Collection held in parishes
across the United States. The Collection is split, and
25% of the proceeds support anti-poverty projects in
the diocese where the funds are collected.

OUTREACH PROGRAM
Thank you for your great response to our request for
Thanksgiving food. We have a lot of mouths to feed
and hope that we will be able to take care of everyone.
This is the last request we will be making for
Thanksigiving food as we will be putting the baskets
together next weekend for distribution on Tuesday. (I
told you that time flies.)
We still need stuffing, sweet potatoes, gravy and apple
juice. We have been told by some of you that you
would like to contribute a turkey but find it too hard to
carry and deliver. If this is the case, and it is something
you would like to do, we suggest a $10 or $15 gift card
from one of the local supermarkets that would pay for
a turkey. We will then insert that into their basket that
contains all the goodies that make Thanksgiving dinner
one of the nicest meals of all time.
While on the subject of Thanksgiving, we do have fruit
coctail for the dessert but if you see fit to purchase a
cake mix that would be the icing (no pun intended) on
the cake.

HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR
Our Lady of Grace Parish is hosting a Holiday
Craft Fair on December 8th, from 8:00AM to
3:00PM at 666 Albin Ave, West Babylon. Event
will feature vendors, raffles, and a Chinese
Auction. Food will be available. We are
currently taking vendor applications. Please log

Annual Christmas Parade: Saturday, December 7th,
at 1:00PM. Parade starts at Chase Bank, north to Our
Lady of the Assumption Auditorium. Copiague
residents are invited for free refreshments and to see
Santa and Mrs. Claus.
NATIONAL NIGHT OF PRAYER FOR LIFE
We still need interested parishioners from our
community of faith to join us in our prayer service
for the National Night of Prayer for Life scheduled
for Sunday, December 8th from 9PM through
December 9th at 1AM in the Church.
The
responsibility is minimal. An outline will be available
for you. The main issue is to see that Jesus is not
alone at any time during these four hours of
devotion. Being a part of such a diverse and unique
parish, we have a greater opportunity to gather ways
to foster devotion to our Blessed Mother, our
protector. Please leave your name and phone number
at the Rectory and we will get back to you.

DON’T FORGET YOUR BABY BOTTLE!
On the weekend of November 30th & December 1st,
Our Lady of the Assumption will be hosting a Baby
Bottle Fundraiser to benefit The Life Center of Long
Island. The Life Center is a crisis pregnancy center that
counsels women and men who are experiencing an
unplanned pregnancy. They provide maternity
housing, medical care, referrals, cribs, car seats, diapers
and ALL other items that are needed. We are asking
that you pick up a baby bottle and fill it with your
change. Most importantly, we are asking you to recite
the prayer on the bottle.
The prayer attached to the bottle will enable the
counselors at The Life Center to say just the right
words a mother or father may need to hear. It
especially opens a mother’s heart to accept the truth.
We believe these prayers lead abortion-minded
women to call The Life Center in the first place.
Let us pray with our whole heart for
the lives of our unborn children
CHRISTMAS ANNOUNCEMENT!
Friday evening, DECEMBER 6th, all are invited
to an evening of Christmas music presented by
the OLA Choir and Leaders of Song. This
evening, during the first Week of Advent, will
be a great means of entering into the true
Spirit of Christmas.
The performance will be in the auditorium
beginning at 8:00 PM. There will be no charge,
but donations will be accepted for the OLA
Renovation Campaign. Please put this event on
your calendar and plan to attend. Bring your
whole family!

PROGRAMA DEL OUTREACH
Gracias por la enorme respuesta recibida a nuestra
solicitud de comestibles para las canastas del Día de
Acción de Gracias.
Esta será la última vez que estaremos pidiendo
artículos para las canastas, ya que serán repartidas el
Martes previo al Día de Acción de Gracias.
Se necesitan los siguientes arículos para completar las
canastas: Relleno para pavo, Papas dulces enlatadas,
salsa para pavo, jugo de manzana, coctel de frutas y
harina/mezcla para pastel.
Sabemos que algunas personas desearían donar un
pavo, pero les resulta muy difícil hacerlo. Nuestra
sugerencia es que compren una tarjeta de regalo ya
sea de $10 o $15 de alguno de los supermercados
locales. Nosotros incluiremos esas tarjetas en las
canastas.

fondos a los proyectos de comunidad que promueven
la misión y visión de CCHD y la Iglesia Católica, que
se adhieren a las enseñanzas moral y social de la Iglesia.

POR LA VIDA
Aún estamos necesitando parroquianos interesados en
acompañarnos en nuestro servicio de “Vigilia Nacional
por la Vida”. Esta actividad está programada para
el Domingo 8 de Diciembre a las 9:00PM y
continuando hasta la 1:00AM del día Lunes 9 de
Diciembre, en la Iglesia. La responsabilidad es
mínima. El asunto principal es ver que Jesús
Sacramentado no esté solo en ningún momento
durante esas pocas horas. Tenemos una gran
oportunidad para promover la devoción a nuestra
Santísima Madre, nuestra protectora. Por favor deje

Serdecznie dziękujemy Państwu za Waszą hojność w
odpowiedzi na naszą prośbę o produkty potrzebne do
przygotowania kolacji na Święto Dziękczynienia dla
potrzebujących rodzin/osób z naszej wspólnoty. W tym
tygodniu prosimy Państwa o te produkty po raz ostatni,
gdyż w następny weekend będziemy wkładać je do koszy,
które rozdamy potrzebującym we wtorek.
Nadal potrzebujemy nadzienia do indyka, słodkich ziemniaków, sosu oraz soku jabłkowego. Prosimy także o
ciasto w proszku (cake mix). Wiele osób powiedziało nam,
że chciałoby ofiarować indyka, ale miałoby problemy z
dostarczeniem go. W takiej sytuacji proponujemy, aby
ofiarowali Państwo kartę (gift card) do jednego z pobliskich supermarketów na kwotę $10 lub $15. Włożylibyśmy ją później do kosza z innymi produktami.

Przyjmujemy intencje mszalne na rok 2014. Ofiara za
intencję wynosi $15. Intencje nie mogą być przyjmowane przez telefon.
Nadal przyjmujemy intencje na msze św. na rok
bieżący. Zachęcamy do zamawiania mszy w dni
powszednie w języku angielskim - nadal jest wiele
wolnych intencji na ten rok.
Można również uczcić pamięć o swoich bliskich
poprzez złożenie Donacji na Chleb i Wino na dany
tydzień w roku 2013 oraz 2014. Donacja wynosi $50.
Osoba mówiąca po polsku dyżuruje w kancelarii
parafialnej w środy w godz. od 19:30 do 21:00 oraz w
soboty w godz. od 9:00 do 11:00.

KATOLICKA KAMPANIA NA RZECZ
ROZWOJU LUDZKIEGO
Katolicka Kampania na Rzecz Rozwoju Ludzkiego kieruje
się zasadami odpowiedzialności i przejrzystości. Przydzielamy fundusze na projekty przeprowadzane w naszych wspólnotach, promujące misje i wizje Kampanii
oraz Kościoła katolickiego, kierując się przy tym moralnym i społecznym nauczaniem Kościoła . Kryteria
przydzielania funduszy oraz lista projektów, na które
fundusze zostały ostatnio przyznane, znajdują się na
stronie internetowej: www.usccb.org (CCHD). Podstawowym źródłem wspierania Kampanii jest doroczna
kolekta przeprowadzana w parafiach w całych Stanach
Zjednoczonych. Dochód z niej zostaje podzielony, po
czym 25% zebranej kwoty zostaje przeznaczonych na
projekty przeciwdziałające ubóstwu na terenie diecezji, w
której fundusze zostały zebrane.

Podczas weekendu 30 listopada -1 grudnia w naszej
Parafii odbywać się będzie Zbiórka Funduszy na Butelkę
dla Niemowlaka. Dochód z akcji przeznaczony zostanie na
wsparcie Centrum Życia na Long Island. Centrum Życia
jest ośrodkiem wspierającym kobiety i mężczyzn w
przypadkach nieplanowanej ciąży. Pracownicy Centrum
służą poradą, pomagają zapewnić mieszkanie, opiekę
medyczną, łóżeczka, foteliki samochodowe, pieluszki oraz
WSZYSTKIE inne potrzebne rzeczy. Prosimy, aby wzięli
Państwo jedną z butelek dla niemowląt i napełnili ją
monetami 25-centowymi.
Prosimy Was także o modlitwę. Tekst modlitwy dołączony
jest do butelki. Wasza modlitwa będzie wspierać pracowników Centrum Życia, aby potrafili dobrać trafne słowa,
które powinni usłyszeć rodzice nienarodzonego dziecka
aby otworzyć się na nowe życie. Wierzymy, że dzięki
Waszej modlitwie osoby, które myślały o aborcji,
zatelefonują najpierw do Centrum Życia.

ARISE THE SUN OF JUSTICE WITH ITS HEALING RAYS”
Were it not for the above ending, today’s first reading
from the prophet Malachi would be very frightening. Today’s
readings prepare us for the coming of Christ’s kingdom,
celebrated next Sunday with the Feast of “Our Lord Jesus Christ,
King of the Universe”.
Those of us who first met the Faith with the Baltimore
Catechism, probably remember the first two answers therein:
“God made the world” and “God is the creator of heaven and
earth, and of all things”. In those days we celebrated the Feast of
Christ, the King, and “all things” we knew were contained in the
heavens and the earth.
How mankind’s vision has expanded! Scientists can study
distant galaxies, extending back almost to the beginning of time.
And so we now celebrate “King of the Universe”. Whatever
scientists find out there, God created it!
Today there are scientists and philosophers who claim that
God is not necessary. The universe just happened by chance!
Next Sunday’s Feast is our chance to proclaim to the
whole world (and universe) that God created the universe and all
that is in it.
In the beginning was the Word . . . and the Word
was God . . . all things were made through him, and
without him was not anything made that was made.”*
