EXPOSITION OF THE
BLESSED SACRAMENT
We will continue with the exposition and
adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on
Wednesdays.
However, please note the time has changed. For
your convenience, the time is now from 6:00pm
to 8:00pm.
Silence and prayer spent in front of the Blessed
Sacrament is the best oppurtunity to prepare
ourselves to be open to the Lord's graces.

OUTREACH PANTRY
The snowfall and five degree weather that we had last week
brought home the fact that winter is definitely here – in spite
of that infamous global warming! It has also registered the
reminder that with winter comes kids out throwing
snowballs and building snowmen, teens going house to
house shoveling snow to put some green in their pockets,
fathers digging out cars and moms home moaning about the
wet boots on their clean floors. Now are you wondering
where you come in? Wonder no longer, I am going to tell
you.
Since we can’t handle perishables, we are asking that you
scout out your local supermarket and supply us with the
packaged soups. . . although we will take canned soups as
well. The packaged soups usually make a larger supply of
soup as you add the water yourself. Often these soups come
in cylinder-shaped cellophane packaging and contain barley
as well as dehydrated vegetables. Stop and Shop still
supplies us with bread and rolls that we pass on to our clients
and this with your soup would make a perfect winter meal.

A great big THANK YOU
Thank you to our wonderful parishioners who
responded to our Flower Collection. We had a
banner year because of your overwhelming
generosity. Our Church and Auditorium were
adorned with so many beautiful Poinsettias
reflecting our love and adoration for the coming
of the Baby Jesus and Mary’s Magnificat. Thank

This date is observed in all Dioceses of the United
States of America, as a particular day of prayer for
the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the
right to life and of penance for violations to the
dignity of the human person committed through
acts of abortion.
MARCH FOR LIFE
Wednesday, January 22, 2014
Buses will leave from many points in Nassau and
Suffolk to bring participants to the March for Life in
Washington, D.C. To find a local bus or for more
information, call Long Island Coalition for Life at
631-243-1435 between the hours of 9:00AM and
7:00PM
For those of us who are unable to attend the March,
this will be a great time to be in unity with them by
visiting and praying to the Blessed Sacrament for the
protection of the unborn.

de los Niños No Nacidos
Esta fecha es observada en todas las Diácesis de
Estados Unidos. Este es un día particular de oración
por la total restauración de la garantía legal al
derecho por la vida y el castigo por las violaciones a
la dignidad humana, cometidas a través del acto del
aborto.
Personas interesadas en cursos ofrecidos por el LONG ISLAND EDUCATIONAL
OPPORTUNITY CENTER, pueden pasar a la Rectoría a anotarse.

W środy w godz. od 18:00 do 20:00 w naszej parafii odbywać
się będzie Wystawienie oraz Adoracja Najświętszego
Sakramentu.
Czas spędzony w ciszy i na modlitwie przed Najświętszym
Sakramentem pomoże nam lepiej otworzyć się na Boże łaski.

W KATEDRZE ŚW. AGNIESZKI W ROCKVILLE CENTRE
Msza Święta w Intencji Polskich Imigrantów koncelebrowana przez Arcybiskupa Józefa Michalika - Przewodniczącego Konferencji Episkopatu Polski, zostanie odprawiona w Katedrze Świętej Agnieszki w Rockville Centre,
w niedzielę 26 stycznia, o godz. 14:30. Po Mszy Świętej,
w Parafii Świętego Władysława w Hempstead odbędzie
się przyjęcie. Osoby, które chciałyby skorzystać z
przejazdu autobusem, prosimy o pozostawianie w
kancelarii parafialnej lub u osoby czekającej przy
drzwiach kościoła/audytorium po Mszy św., swojego

ZAMAWIANIE INTENCJI MSZALNYCH
Przyjmujemy intencje mszalne na rok 2014. Ofiara za
intencję wynosi $15. Intencje nie mogą być przyjmowane
przez telefon.
Zachęcamy do zamawiania mszy w dni powszednie w
języku angielskim.
Można również uczcić pamięć o swoich bliskich poprzez
złożenie Donacji na Chleb i Wino na dany tydzień w roku
2014. Donacja wynosi $50.

Zaświadczenia rozesłane zostaną do tych spośród naszych
parafian, którzy w ubiegłym roku złożyli łączną donację w

Zaświadczenia powinni Państwo otrzymać nie później niż
30 stycznia.

otrzymać, to prosimy o zatelefonowanie do kancelarii

FEAST OF THE BAPTISM OF THE LORD If you look in the Missalette on the pages before the Sunday readings, you will see the prayers that the priest recites before the readings. For today’s Feast, there is a choice of two prayers. Whenever this happens I find myself mildly disturbed because I cannot decide which to read. So, as usual, I read both, and again as usual, I found myself trying to decide which I preferred. But this time, the main thought of each seemed to need the other. The first reminds us that after Jesus was Baptized by John, the Father “solemnly declares” that Jesus is his beloved Son, while the second asks that we “may be inwardly transformed through him”. Isn’t this the essence of our spiritual life? That we know Jesus, and through him, the Father? “Philip, whoever has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9), and that we spend our lives being transformed into the likeness of Jesus? Today’s feast ends the Christmas Season; next week we begin a month long period of Ordinary Time. This gives us a chance to absorb all that has taken place in our liturgical life: the promise of a Redeemer, the coming of that Redeemer into human history, the manifestation of that Redeemer to the entire world, and the Father’s confirmation: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Let us spend some time in prayer, asking Jesus to show us the Father and to transform each of us into the likeness of Himself. Eucharistic Adoration will continue on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. This would be a great time to ask Jesus for these graces. Agnes Scheuermann
