NATIONAL NIGHT OF PRAYER FOR LIFE

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK…
This year the St. Agnes medal was awarded
to Andrzej and Anna Kuczynski. Andrzej and
Anna have been an integral part of our parish
since 1996. Through the years, Andrzej has
served as a Eucharistic Minister, he plays an
important part of our Mass preparation and
he volunteers to help at the Feast. He is
always ready to lend a hand whenever it is
needed at the parish. Anna serves as a lector,
she is a Rosarian, a religious education
teacher and is on our Pastoral Council. This
year Andrzej and Anna took an active role in
our Parish Renovation Campaign. They serve
as captains of the committee and have helped
speak about the campaign at masses and
through telephone callings.
It has been a blessing to have Andrzej and
Anna as members of our parish.

OUTREACH PROGRAM
I don’t know about you but I find it very nerve-wracking that I
ask for school books because school is opening and then the
next week I ask for special food because Thanksgiving is right
around the corner. Am I having so much fun that time is flying
by or is it an age thing? Hopefully it is the former as I hate to
give in to “age’ things.
Back to Thanksgiving---we give to as many of the clients as
we possibly can the makings of a turkey dinner, including the
turkey. This is where you come in as it would not be possible
without your contributions. We are in need of apple juice,
stuffing, mashed potatoes, string beans, gravy, sweet
potatoes, turkeys and canned fruit.
It may seem a little early in the month to be asking for these
items; however, very soon we will be inundating you with
reminders that Christmas is coming and we need Christmas
presents for our clients. We never stop, do we? Thank you

ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY
Due to the extensive heat and air-conditioning
replacement being done in the Church and
Auditorium, we were forced to reschedule our
Mystery Dinner Show on Friday. Hopefully we
reached all ticket holders informing them of
the cancellation. We are now looking forward
to our new date which is Friday, November
8th at 7:00PM. Ironically, all those who were
not able to make that show now have an
opportunity to attend. Be a part of our
"Hillbilly Hoedown". For tickets, please call

DON’T FORGET YOUR BABY BOTTLE!
On the weekend of November 30th & December 1st, Our
Lady of the Assumption will be hosting a Baby Bottle
Fundraiser to benefit The Life Center of Long Island.
The Life Center is a crisis pregnancy center that
counsels women and men who are experiencing an
unplanned pregnancy. They provide maternity housing,
medical care, referrals, cribs, car seats, diapers and ALL
other items that are needed. We are asking that you
pick up a baby bottle and fill it with your change. Most
importantly, we are asking you to recite the prayer on
the bottle.
The prayer attached to the bottle will enable the
counselors at The Life Center to say just the right words
a mother or father may need to hear. It especially opens
a mother’s heart to accept the truth. We believe these
prayers lead abortion-minded women to call The Life
Center in the first place.

SOCIEDAD DEL ROSARIO DEL ALTAR
Debido a trabajos de calefacción y aire acondicionado, que
están siendo hechos en la Iglesia y el Auditorio, nos hemos
visto forzados a reprogramar nuestra Cena-Espectáculo
del pasado Viernes. Con suerte, esperamos haber
contactado a todas aquellas personas que compraron su
boleto. Ahora estamos trabajando en la nueva fecha que
será el Viernes 8 de Noviembre, a las 7:00PM.
Irónicamente, todos aquellos que no consiguieron a tiempo

DE NUESTRO PASTOR...
Este año la medalla de Santa Inés fue otorgada a Andrzej
y Anna Kuczynski. Ellos han sido una parte integral de
nuestra parroquia desde 1996. A través de los años
Andrzej ha servido como Ministro Eucarístico, el juega
una parte importante en la preparación de la Misa y él
hace trabajo de voluntariado durante la fiesta parroquial.
El siempre está listo a prestar una mano cuando se
necesita en la parroquia. Anna sirve como lectora, ella
es miembro Rosariana, es maestra voluntaria de
Educación Religiosa y es miembro en nuestro Consejo
Pastoral. Este año Andrzej y Anna tomaron un rol activo
en nuestra Campaña de Renovación Parroquial. Ellos
sirven como capitanes del comité y han ayudado a hablar
acerca de la campaña durante las Misas y haciendo
llamadas telefónicas.
Ha sido una bendición tener a Andrzej y Anna como
miembros de esta parroquia.

¡NO OLVIDEN SU BIBERON!
Durante el fin de semana 30 de Noviembre y 1 de
Diciembre Nuestra Señora de la Asunción estará
patrocinando la recaudación de Biberones para
beneficiar al Centro de la Vida de Long Island. Este
lugar es un centro para embarazos en crisis, que asesora
a mujeres y hombres que están atravezando por un
embarazo imprevisto. El Centro provee vivienda,
chequeo médico, cunas, asientos para transportar al
niño en el auto, pañales y TODO los demás artículos
necesarios durante la maternidad. Estamos pidiendo
que ustedes lleven un biberón y depositen el todos esas
monedas que reciben como cambio cuando efectúan
sus compras. También es importante que ustedes
incluyan en sus oraciones la oración que se encuentra
en las botellas de biberón.
Esa oración facilita a los consejeros en el Centro de la
Vida decir las palabras correctas que una madre o un
padre necesitan oír. Esta oración, especialmente, abre
el corazón de una madre, para que acepte la verdad.
Creemos que estas oraciones conducen a las mujeres,
que están considerando el aborto, a que llamen al
Centro de la Vida.

de los bebés no nacidos

W tym roku Medal Św. Agnieszki został przyznany
Andrzejowi i Annie Kuczyńskim. Począwszy od 1996
roku, obydwoje pełnią oni w naszej parafii ważne funkcje. Andrzej od lat służy jako minister Eucharystii.
Odgrywa on także ważną rolę w przygotowaniu Mszy
św. oraz jako wolontariusz pomaga przy przy naszym
Festiwalu Parafialnym. Zawsze służy naszej parafii
pomocą. Anna służy jako lektorka, należy do Kółka
Różańcowego, jest nauczycielką edukacji religijnej
oraz członkiem naszej rady parafialnej. W tym roku
Andrzej i Anna podjęli ważną rolę podczas Parafialnej
Kampanii Renowacyjnej. Pełnią istotną funkcję w
komisji, wypowiadali się na temat Kampanii podczas
Mszy św. i w trakcie rozmów telefonicznych.
Prawdziwą łaską jest dla nas to, że Andrzej i Anna są
członkami naszej parafii.

W związku z zaawansowanymi pracami nad wymianą systemów grzewczego i chłodzącego w naszym kościele i audytorium, zmuszeni zostaliśmy
zmienić datę naszego przedstawienia “Hillbully
Hoedown” (Mystery Dinner Show). Staraliśmy się
skontaktować z wszystkimi osobami, które nabyły
bilety, aby poinformować je o zmianie. Przedstawienie odbędzie się w piątek - 8 listopada o godz.
19:00. Wszystkich, którzy chcieliby na nie przybyć,
a jeszcze nie zakupili biletów, prosimy o skontaktowanie się z Terry- tel. 789-4632 lub kancelarią
parafialną- tel. 842-5211. Zapraszamy!
PROGRAM POMOCY SOCJALNEJ
W związku z przypadającym w tym miesiącu Świętem
Dziękczynienia prosimy Państwa o produkty potrzebne
do przygotowania uroczystej kolacji dla potrzebujących
członków naszej wspólnoty. Prosimy o sok jabłkowy,
nadzienie do indyka, puree ziemniaczane (w proszku),
fasolkę szparagową, sos do indyka, słodkie ziemniaki,
indyki oraz owoce w puszkach.
Może wydawać się, że jest jeszcze zbyt wcześnie, aby
prosić Państwa o powyższe produkty, jakkolwiek, już
niedługo zaczniemy przypominać o nadchodzących
Świętach Bożego Narodzenia i prosić o prezenty dla
ubogich z naszej wspólnoty.

Przyjmujemy intencje mszalne na rok 2014. Ofiara za
intencję wynosi $15. Intencje nie mogą być
przyjmowane przez telefon.
Nadal przyjmujemy intencje na msze św. na rok
bieżący. Zachęcamy do zamawiania mszy w dni
powszednie w języku angielskim - nadal jest wiele
wolnych intencji na ten rok.
Można również uczcić pamięć o swoich bliskich
poprzez złożenie Donacji na Chleb i Wino na dany
tydzień w roku 2013 oraz 2014. Donacja wynosi $50.
Osoba mówiąca po polsku dyżuruje w kancelarii
parafialnej w środy w godz. od 19:30 do 21:00 oraz w
soboty w godz. od 9:00 do 11:00.
NOC MODLITWY
W OBRONIE ŻYCIA POCZĘTEGO
W nocy z niedzieli na poniedziałek 8/9 grudnia br.
będziemy łączyli się na czuwaniu wraz z wiernymi w
całych Stanach Zjednoczonych. Będzie to modlitwa o
ochronę życia poczętego, położenie kresu pladze
aborcji i obronę wolności religijnej w Ameryce. 8
grudnia to uroczystość Niepokalanego Poczęcia, a 9
grudnia to święto św. Jana Diego, któremu ukazała się
Matka Boża z Guadalupe, która jest patronką obu
Ameryk i dzieci nienarodzonych.
W GODZINIE JEDNOŚCI, między północą a godziną 1AM
czasu nowojorskiego połączymy się ze wszystkimi grupami
zgromadzonymi na czuwaniu i modlitwie w całej Ameryce.
Wszystkich zachęcamy do czynnego udziału. Potrzebujemy
ochotników ze wspólnty polskiej aby zorganizować
modlitwę w języku polskim przez jedną godzinę w czasie
czuwania.
Wszystkich naszych parafian, którzy pragnęliby pomóc
nam w przygotowaniu programu modlitwy na tę noc,

Podczas weekendu 30 listopada -1 grudnia w naszej
Parafii odbywać się będzie Zbiórka Funduszy na Butelkę
dla Niemowlaka. Dochód z akcji przeznaczony zostanie
na wsparcie Centrum Życia na Long Island. Centrum
Życia jest ośrodkiem wspierającym kobiety i mężczyzn w

Before the Lord the whole universe is as a grain of sand . . .
Today’s reading from the book of Wisdom is a great reminder of how God loves his creation, forgives our shortcomings, and keeps all in existence. Keep this is mind if you happen to watch a TV science show in which the host is implying that recent developments in science do away with a need for God’s existence. And if you see a TV show telling you that “the end of the world is at hand”, remind yourself of St. Paul’s words in today’s second reading: “We ask you brothers and sisters, not to be shaken out of your minds suddenly, or to be alarmed by a “spirit”, or by an oral statement, or by a letter allegedly from us to the effect that the day of the Lord is at hand.” Do as Zacchaeus did – look for JESUS. Zacchaeus climbed a sycamore tree to see Jesus, and Jesus looked up and called to Zacchaeus “come down quickly”. All it takes is a desire to find Jesus, and he will respond to our call. “In him we live and move, and have our being.” Jesus is always with us. But we meet Jesus in a special way in his Word, in the Eucharist, and in all the sacraments. Zacchaeus received Jesus “with joy”. So let us sing at Communion time “I received the Living God, and my heart is full of joy!” (# 363) “We always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling.” Agnes Scheuermann
