Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Lord God, the day of our salvation dawned when the Blessed Virgin gave birth to your Son. As we celebrate her nativity grant us your grace and your peace. Through Christ our Lord, Amen. SPEAKING OUT IN LOVE In the final verses of today’s Gospel reading Jesus says that when two or three are gathered in his name, “there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). So we understand that fraternal correction is always undertaken in the presence of Jesus Christ. Likewise, encouraging the good in others is not only the right thing for us to do, it is a necessity. The LORD tells the prophet Ezekiel that if he does not speak out to dissuade a person from evil, then he too will be held responsible. We live in a “do your own thing” age where moral objectivity is often ignored. Clearly when the message we share with others is rooted in love, our motives cannot ever be misinterpreted. As Saint Paul writes, “Love does no evil to the neighbor; hence, love is the fulfillment of the law” (Romans 13:10). Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co. A PRAYERFUL REMEMBRANCE Lord, let us never forget the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Thirteen years have passed, and it still is so hard to justify the motives for the unspeakable and senseless violence of that day. Many innocent lives were lost in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, DC, and the world as we knew it changed forever. Now, more than ever, we need to rely on our faith and pray to you for guidance. Today as we remember and pray for all of those who perished on that fateful day, let us remember the comforting words of St. Francis, “It is in dying that we are born to eternal life”. Obrzędy chrztu mogą się odbywać w czasie Mszy świętej, podczas której rodzice i chrzestni powinni przystąpić do Komunii świętej albo poza Mszą świętą. POLISH GIFT OF LIFE There will ba a yard sale at the Polish National Home in Glen Cove Sunday September 7th from Noon to 5:00PM. All proceeds benefit The Polish Gift of Life for children who need life saving heart surgeries.
