Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Lord God, the day of our salvation dawned when the
Blessed Virgin gave birth to your Son.
As we celebrate her nativity grant us your grace and
your peace. Through Christ our Lord, Amen. SPEAKING OUT IN LOVE
In the final verses of today’s Gospel reading Jesus
says that when two or three are gathered in his name,
“there am I in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20).
So we understand that fraternal correction is always
undertaken in the presence of Jesus Christ. Likewise,
encouraging the good in others is not only the right
thing for us to do, it is a necessity. The LORD tells
the prophet Ezekiel that if he does not speak out to
dissuade a person from evil, then he too will be held
responsible. We live in a “do your own thing” age
where moral objectivity is often ignored. Clearly
when the message we share with others is rooted in
love, our motives cannot ever be misinterpreted. As
Saint Paul writes, “Love does no evil to the
neighbor; hence, love is the fulfillment of the
law” (Romans 13:10).

A PRAYERFUL REMEMBRANCE
Lord, let us never forget the tragic
events of September 11, 2001.
Thirteen years have passed, and it still
is so hard to justify the motives for the
unspeakable and senseless violence of
that day. Many innocent lives were
lost in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington,
DC, and the world as we knew it changed forever.
Now, more than ever, we need to rely on our faith
and pray to you for guidance. Today as we remember
and pray for all of those who perished on that fateful
day, let us remember the comforting words of St.
Francis, “It is in dying that we are born to eternal
life”. Amen

Chrzest (c.d.)
Przez chrzest stajemy się członkami
Kościoła Chrystusowego i możemy
korzystać ze wszystkich łask, jakie Pan
Jezus zostawił w Kościele, a które są nam
potrzebne do uświęcenia się. Chrzest
wyciska wreszcie na duszy ludzkiej znak
czyli znamię. Dlatego chrzest można
przyjąć
tylko
raz
w
życiu.
Chrzest
może
przyjąć
każdy
nieochrzczony, tak niemowlę, jak i dorosły
człowiek. Człowiek dorosły musi pragnąć
przyjąć ten Sakrament, poznać główne
prawdy wiary Chrystusowej i uwierzyć w
te prawdy, a także wzbudzić żal za
grzechy przed chrztem popełnione.
Przy chrzcie otrzymujemy imię Świętego,
który ma być nam w życiu wzorem i
patronem.
Rodzicami chrzestnymi mogą być tylko
praktykujący katolicy, którzy przyjęli
sakrament bierzmowania. Mają oni wraz z
rodzicami naturalnymi dbać o katolickie
wychowanie
swego
chrześniaka.
Obrzędy chrztu mogą się odbywać w
czasie Mszy świętej, podczas której
rodzice i chrzestni powinni przystąpić do
Komunii świętej albo poza Mszą świętą.
W
obrzędach
chrztu
powinna
uczestniczyć
cała rodzina dziecka.
Gdy dziecko dojdzie do używania rozumu,
powinno sumiennie wykonywać obietnice,
złożone w jego imieniu przez rodziców
chrzestnych. Pożyteczną rzeczą jest
ponawiać obietnice, złożone przy chrzcie,
szczególnie przy bierzmowaniu, pierwszej
Komunii świętej i w Wigilię Wielkanocną.
POLISH GIFT OF LIFE
