Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
As we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus
Christ, it is my privilege to wish you and your
families a very happy Christmas season and a
New Year filled with peace, good health, and happiness.
The birth of a baby is always a cause for joy; the
birth of the Savior of the World, the Prince of
Peace and King of Kings, all the more so. It is my
prayer for each of you that you will personally
experience the joy of Christmas in a way that will
increase your desire to know and serve the Lord
more intensely in the year to come.
This past year for me was one that drew me
closer to the Lord, in ways that I never could have
predicted last Christmas. Because of my surgery
for cancer, I came to appreciate in a new way
how closely this world touches the next. It also
made me much more aware that, in this world
and the next, life is a network of relationships that
are connected through our prayers for each other
and have their foundation in God. I am grateful for
your prayers.
Let us continue to pray for each other and for all
those areas in our world that so badly need the
peace that only Christ can bring. You and all of
your needs and concerns will be in my own
prayers. Thank you for your life of faith, and may
God bless you abundantly in 2007.

Anyone interested in participating in a free trip to UIC/
Loyola Basketball Game on
Saturday, January 13, 2007 should call the
school principal, Al Theis @ 708 (6565010). The school has received 50 free
tickets for the game. Transportation is by
bus. The bus will leave the school grounds
at 3PM. The game will begin at 4PM.
The next Religious Education
Class (CCD) will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007. Classes
will begin at 8:00Aam and dismissal is at 10:00am.
THANK YOU to MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL for a donation of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to our parish Social Center. This piece of costly and highly efficient
medical technology can be used to save a life when exertion
has caused a heart to stop beating. It is State Law for all
gymnasiums to have one of these instruments available at all
times. MacNeal Hospital has generously provided not only
this equipment but also training to our school administration
in the use of this the defibrillator.

Pascua. Y cuando fué de doce años, subieron ellos á Jerusalem conforme á la costumbre del día de la fiesta. Y acabados los días, volviendo ellos, se quedó el niño Jesús en
Jerusalem, sin saberlo José y su madre. Y pensando que
estaba en la compañía, anduvieron camino de un día; y le
buscaban entre los parientes y entre los conocidos: Mas
como no le hallasen, volvieron á Jerusalem buscándole. Y
aconteció, que tres días después le hallaron en el templo,
sentado en medio de los doctores, oyéndoles y preguntándoles. Y todos los que le oían, se pasmaban de su entendimiento y de sus respuestas. Y cuando le vieron, se maravillaron; y díjole su madre: Hijo, ¿por qué nos has hecho así?

Navidad del 2006
Queridos hermanos y hermanas en Cristo
Al celebrar el nacimiento de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, es para mí un privilegio muy especial poder
desearles a ustedes y sus familias unas muy felices
pascuas de Navidad y un Año Nuevo lleno de paz,
salud y felicidad.
El nacimiento de un bebé es siempre un gran motivo de alegría, y aún más, el nacimiento del Salvador del mundo, Príncipe de la Paz y Rey de
Reyes. Es mi oración que cada uno de ustedes
experimente el júbilo de la Navidad en forma tal
que aumente en ustedes el deseo de servir al Señor
en una manera más intensa en los años venideros.
Este año fue un tiempo que me acercó más al Señor en formas que no hubiera podido predecir la
Navidad del año pasado. Debido a mi operación
por cáncer, llegué a apreciar en una nueva forma
la cercanía que existe de este mundo con el otro
mundo. Asimismo, me hizo mucho más conciente,
que tanto en este mundo como en el próximo, la
vida es un multinivel de relaciones interconectadas por medio de la oración de unos por los otros
y que tiene sus fundamentos en Dios nuestro Señor. Me siento muy agradecido por sus oraciones.
Les pido que continuemos orando los unos por los
otros y por todas las necesidades en el mundo que
necesitan la paz que solamente Cristo puede dar.
Tanto ustedes mismos como sus propias necesidades estarán presentes en mi oración. Muchas gracias por su vida de fe. Que Dios les bendiga abundantemente en el nuevo año 2007.

Las Sagrada Familia
El mensaje que viene de la Sagrada Familia es ante todo un mensaje de fe: la casa de Nazaret es una casa en la que Dios ocupa
verdaderamente un lugar central. Para María y José esta opción
de fe se concreta en el servicio al Hijo de Dios que se le confió,
pero se expresa también en su amor recíproco, rico en ternura
espiritual y fidelidad. María y José enseñan con su vida que el
matrimonio es una alianza entre el hombre y la mujer, alianza que
los compromete a la fidelidad recíproca, y que se apoya en la
confianza común en Dios. Se trata de una alianza tan noble, profunda y definitiva, que constituye para los creyentes el sacramento
del amor de Cristo y de la Iglesia. La fidelidad de los cónyuges es,
a su vez, como una roca sólida en la que se apoya la confianza de
los hijos. Cuando padres e hijos respiran juntos esa atmósfera de
fe, tienen una energía que les permite afrontar incluso pruebas
difíciles, como muestra la experiencia de la Sagrada Familia.

Niedziela Świętej Rodziny
Rodzice Jego chodzili co roku do Jerozolimy na Święto
Paschy. Gdy miał lat dwanaście, udali się tam zwyczajem
świątecznym. Kiedy wracali po skończonych uroczystościach, został Jezus w Jerozolimie, a tego nie zauważyli
Jego Rodzice. Przypuszczając, że jest w towarzystwie
pątników, uszli dzień drogi i szukali Go wśród krewnych
i znajomych. Gdy Go nie znaleźli, wrócili do Jerozolimy
szukając Go. Dopiero po trzech dniach odnaleźli Go w
świątyni, gdzie siedział między nauczycielami, przysłuchiwał się im i zadawał pytania. Wszyscy zaś, którzy Go
słuchali, byli zdumieni bystrością Jego umysłu i odpowiedziami. Na ten widok zdziwili się bardzo, a Jego Matka
rzekła do Niego: «Synu, czemuś nam to uczynił? Oto
ojciec Twój i ja z bólem serca szukaliśmy Ciebie». Lecz
On im odpowiedział: «Czemuście Mnie szukali? Czy nie
wiedzieliście, że powinienem być w tym, co należy do
mego Ojca?» Oni jednak nie zrozumieli tego, co im powiedział. Potem poszedł z nimi i wrócił do Nazaretu; i był
im poddany. A Matka Jego chowała wiernie wszystkie te
wspomnienia w swym sercu. Jezus zaś czynił postępy w
mądrości, w latach i w łasce u Boga i u ludzi.

Drodzy Bracia i Siostry w Chrystusie,
Z okazji uroczystości narodzenia naszego Pana,
Jezusa Chrystusa, moim przywilejem jest życzyć
Wam i Waszym rodzinom radosnych świąt Boże
Narodzenie, a Nowy Rok niech napełni Was pokojem, dobrym zdrowiem i szczęściem.
Urodzenie każdego dziecka jest zawsze powodem
do radości; tym bardziej urodzenie Zbawiciela
Świata, Księcia Pokoju i Króla Królów. Modlę
się w intencji każdego z Was, abyście osobiście
doświadczyli radości Bożego Narodzenia w taki
sposób, by pobudziła w Was głębsze życzenie
poznania Go i pobudziła do intensywniejszego
służenia Panu Bogu w nadchodzącym roku.
Kończący się rok był dla mnie rokiem, który zbliżył mnie do Pana Boga w taki sposób, którego nie
mogłem przewidzieć podczas ubiegłorocznego
Bożego Narodzenia. Poprzez doświadczenie operacji na raka, zrozumiałem w nowy sposób, jak
bardzo ten świat dotyka świata następnego.
Uświadomiłem sobie ten fakt lepiej, że w tym
świecie i w następnym, życie jest związkiem stosunków, które są połączone przez nasze wzajemne modlitwy, które mają swoje korzenie w Bogu.
Jestem bardzo wdzięczny za Wasze modlitwy.
Nadal módlmy się nawzajem jeden za drugiego i
za te sprawy na całym naszym świecie, które tak
bardzo potrzebują pokoju, a które tylko Chrystus
może przynieść. Was i wszystkie Wasze potrzeby
włączam do moich modlitw. Dziękuję Wam za
Wasze życie w wierze i niech Bóg błogosławi
obficie w 2007 roku.

Najbliższy piątek tj. 5 stycznia będzie pierwszym piątkiem miesiąca. W tam dniu w szczególny sposób czcimy Serce Pana Jezusa. Gorąco zachęcamy do skorzystania z sakramentu
pojednania oraz do udziału we Mszy Świętej o
godzinie 7-mej wieczorem.
