The 2015 Mass Book will be open on Monday,
September 8th. Please stop by the Rectory during

Masses may be arranged over the phone, and must
be done personally. The offering is $15.00 per Mass
Intention.

Meeting: Monday, Aug. 11th, in the Lower Church
Hall. 7PM, Officers Meeting; 8PM, General Meeting.
The Outreach will be closed the week of August 4th to
make room for the annual Feast. We will be back on

The Life Center is in desperate need of the following items:

Wiemy, że wiele spośrod naszych Pań i Panów posiada
wspaniałe talenty kulinarne. Jest więc znakomita okazja
ku temu, abyśmy wszyscy, nie tylko Polacy, ale także
ludzie pochodzący z innych krajów, mogli pokosztować
Waszych dań. Jesteśmy pewni, że wszystkie one będą
nam bardzo smakowały, a nasz wspólny wkład wesprze
naszą parafię. Prosimy wszystkie osoby, które mogłyby
przygotować dania dla polskiego stoiska o telefonowanie

PROŚBA O SŁODKIE WYPIEKI I DESERY
Jedna z naszych bardzo hojnych parafianek zapowiedziała,
że cały dochód ze swojej BUDKI ZE SŁODKIMI PRZYSMAKAMI przekaże na rzecz naszego Festynu Parafialnego.
Jest to z jej strony piękny gest. Wiemy jednak, że wielu
spośród Państwa również posiada talenty cukiernicze.
Osoby, które mogłyby przygotować coś pysznego na deser,
proszone są o zatelefonowanie do kancelarii parafialnej nr ( 631) 842-5211. Państwa pomoc jest nam bardzo
potrzebna.
ALL YOU WHO ARE THIRSTY, COME TO THE WATER!
Last week we considered what we might ask God for.
This week, speaking through the prophet Isaiah, we have God
offering us more than we could imagine.
Are we thirsting for God? If we are, we have God
promising to renew us with “the everlasting covenant”. “The
hand of the Lord feeds us, he answers all our needs.”
And better yet, we have St. Paul in the second reading,
assuring us that nothing can take this treasure from us.
“Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God in
Christ Jesus, our Lord.” This thought is very comforting in
the daily trials of life. It is even more so when greater trials
and suffering come along.
Yesterday I had two Jehovah Witnesses at my door.
Their theme was “Did I believe that a good God could let bad
things happen to good people”. Happily, I had just read this
second reading, and was able to answer them that “in all
these things we conquer overwhelmingly through him who
loved us”. I told them I believed that our suffering is
redemptive. They seemed satisfied, and after a few moments
of pleasant chatting, went merrily on their way.
In today’s Gospel reading, we have Jesus feeding five
thousand men and their families with five loaves of bread
and two fish. This is a foreshadowing of Jesus feeding
millions of us with his own body and blood in the Eucharist.
Just as the bread and fish did not run out, so the mercy and
love of God in Jesus is ever present to us for the taking.
