SACRIFICIAL OFFERING - September 20, 2009
Weekly $4403.25 (including $274.25 in loose money); Diocesan
Obligations $15; Fuel $235; CD $351.
Phase III. Total donors to-date- 110. Grand total $36,543 which
includes total cash of $30,943 plus $5600 due in pledges.
Stewardship Note. "Anyone who gives you a cup of water to drink
because you belong to Christ, amen, I say to you, will surely not
lose his reward." (Mark 9:41) Our Lord's comment about the
simple gesture of giving a drink of water is a reminder ofhow Jesus
taught that we would all be judged at the end of time. "For I was
hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink,
a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill
and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me." (Matthew
25:35). Our service and sacrifice to our parish and the greater
Church allows us to care for Jesus when He is hungry, thirsty, ill or
in need.

some capacity to the Religious Education program. You may be
surprised at your hidden potential! Most and foremost, we look for
your stewardship of TIME - a month, 3 months or more-it is not a

to our Director.
LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT
I was notified by the office of Attorney Morrill of Southbridge
MA that Mr. John Markiewicz willed his house to Saint Joseph
Basilica. The will reads "I hereby give and devise my house and
land at 88 Lake Street, Webster, Massachusetts to the Pastor of St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic Parish in said Webster for general
purposes in the administration of the parish." In a spirit of
gratitude to John for his faith and generosity as a faithful
parishioner, and dedicated teacher of St. Joseph School, a mosaic
will be installed on the wall next to the baptismal font depicting the
Baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River. Let this mosaic be a perpetual
memory for John's faith and dedication to the Church. In addition
every year on his anniversary a Mass will be celebrated for the
repose of his soul. May the soul of John Markiewicz enjoy eternal
happiness with God.
GALA CELEBRATION

major benefactor of one million dollars to the St. Joseph School

students and the alumni. It is not a fund raiser but a social gathering
of our school and parish community together with the bishop and
other officials to support the effort of various committees for this
long overdue project. Cost of tickets is $50/person.
