PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna S.A. is the dominant company of the
largest energy capital group in Poland and one of the largest energy groups
in Central and Eastern Europe. PGE Group conducts its activity in six major
segments: mining and generation, comprising lignite mining, conventional
generation of electricity and heat, wholesale trade in electricity, retail sales
of electricity, distribution of electricity and renewable energy.
Apart from the six major lines of business, PGE Group through its subsidiaries
also conducts activity in other areas, incl. telecommunications. Net electricity
production of the Group in 2008 amounted to more than 56 TWh.
Total generating capacity amounts to approx. 12.4 GW. These figures
place PGE S.A. among the largest players in Central Europe. In 2008, PGE
Group sold electricity to more than five million customers, both domestic
and business. PGE S.A. has been selected by Polish government to advise
governmental experts on the implementation of Polish nuclear energy
program. The Company is expected to be the leading entity in constructing
and exploiting first Polish plants of nuclear energy.

PLANNED PRIVATISATION
The Treasury holds 100% of the Company’s shares. It plans to sell in 2010
up to 10% of the shares of the new emission in several tranches on the WSE,
following the IPO of PGE S.A. shares on the WSE in 2009.
