http://www.gkpge.pl/press-center/press-releases/corporate The first 858 MW unit synchronisation in PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna SA Oddział Elektrownia Bełchatów 10.06.2011 Warsaw, 10 June 2011 - On 10 June 2011 after finishing electrical tests, the new 858 MW unit in PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna SA Oddział Elektrownia Bełchatów was synchronised for the first time with the national power grids. It means that the national electricity power system received the first volumes of electricity from the newly built power unit at Bełchatów Power Plant. PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna SA at its Bełchatów Power Plant location is executing its strategic investment project related to the construction of the new conventional 858 MW unit, whose turnkey contractor is the consortium of Alstom companies. The current works aim at checking the correctness of the operation of all technological systems and the unit's readiness for cooperation with the national power system. The crowning of the tests is the first synchronisation of the 858 MW unit, which was performed on 10 June 2011 after completing the first stage of the electrical tests. The unit is planned to be put into commercial operation in the third quarter of 2011. Additional information on PGE S.A.
