During this Year of Faith, we are asked to learn more about the Catechism of the Catholic Church – Why we believe, what we believe: THE ROSARY On Sundays in October we will pray the Rosary 15 minutes before the English mass and 20 minutes before the Polish mass. Why can there be only one Church? Just as there is only one Christ, there can be Why can there be only one Church? only one Church of Jesus Christ. He is the Head, the Church is the Body. Jesus built his Church, which subsists in the Catholic Church, on the foundation of the Apostles. This foundation supports her to this day. The faith of the Apostles was handed down from generation to generation under the leadership of the Pope. An early Church Father, St. Irenaeus of Lyons wrote, “For with this Church, by reason of its preeminence…the faithful everywhere must necessarily be in accord, because in it the tradition of the apostles has always been preserved.” (From the Youth Catechism of the Catholic Church, #129) During the week, the Rosary will be prayed immediately after each morning mass. POLISH FESTIVAL AT ST. STANISLAUS The Shrine Church of St. Stanislaus, Social Center, 6601 Baxter Avenue, Cleveland, presents its annual Polish Festival this weekend, October 4-6. A detailed listing of events and mass times is posted on the parish bulletin board near the side entrance of our church. For more information call 341-9091, or visit www.ststanislaus.org.
