Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process for
1) those Non-Christians who are 18 years of age or older
considering the possibility of becoming Roman Catholic;
2) for those 18 years of age or older, of other Christian
faiths considering the possibility of embracing the Roman
Catholic Church;
3) for baptized Roman Catholics 18 years of age or older
who have not received either the sacrament of the
Eucharist or Confirmation - or both.

before classes begin.
NEW EVANGELIZATION
A group will be forming to read and discuss Pope
Francis’ Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium - The Joy of
the Gospel. If you are interested in joining the

The following proposed federal pro-life legislation is
gaining more widespread and bipartisan support in
Congress:
LIFE AT CONCEPTION ACT, HR 1091 & S593, would
legally establish that the protection of life guaranteed by the
U.S. Constitution is vested in every human being from the
MOMENT OF CONCEPTION...equal protection under the
law for every born and pre-born human in the United
States.
NO TAXPAYER FUNDING OF ABORTION ACT,
S946 (companion legislation in the House of
Representatives has already passed). When ultimately
passed this Act will not only end abortion funding through
ObamaCare, but eliminate federal funding for private
abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, the
nation’s largest abortion chain. PP’s own 2012 report
admits that they received over 540 million TAXPAYER
dollars to pay for ‘overhead’ expenses so they can perform
more abortions.
PARENTAL NOTIFICATION AND INTERVENTION
ACT. This Act will require that BOTH parents be given
notification of at least a four day waiting period and
empower EITHER parent to stop abortion on their minor
daughter. This Act will effect abortionists in all fifty states
and closes the judicial bypass loophole.

House Rep and urge them to support the above Bills by

pre-born brothers and sisters cannot speak for themselves.

HOW IS YOUR GARDENING?
Today’s Gospel, the parable of the sower and the seed,
is a great meditation for this time of year. I very much dislike
gardening, but I love the effects of beautiful flowers around
my house. I now use hanging baskets because it is so easy to
simply hang a basket. When I do buy plants that go in the
ground, I dig the smallest hole possible, drop in the plant,
give it a little water, and hope for the best. And they usually
thrive. But when, with a little encouragement from a
gardening friend, I sprinkle in a little plant food, the
difference is noticeable!
One year I thought I could just dump in a box of wild
flower seed and let it do its job. I got a few wild flowers and
many more weeds. Weeds always take over! And now I have
Satan himself in the form of a squirrel who immediately eats
every beautiful white lily that opens.
So this Gospel and St. Paul’s thought in the second
reading: “I consider the sufferings of this present time are as
nothing compared with the glory to be revealed in us” lead
me to consider how much care I am giving to my spiritual life.

but eternity goes on forever!
If you are a person who actually enjoys the work of
gardening, your meditation might run differently. Do you put
the same care and enthusiasm into your preparation for
eternal life?
From another angle, if you have prepared a great day at
the beach, and it rains, that is probably me at home praying
for rain to “water the earth and make it fruitful”, so that I do
not have to do the watering. Please forgive me!
