The Virgin Mary, chosen Mother of the
Redeemer, is robed in the splendor of
her stainless innocence, clothed with the
beauty of Christ, and prepared to receive
Him in her womb.
The feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary will be
celebrated on Tuesday, December 8th.
In the United States this feast is a Holyday of Obligation. There
will be an evening Mass, celebrated in English, on Monday,
December 7th in anticipation of the feast, for those who find it
difficult to attend Mass on the holyday. Masses will be celebrated at 7AM and at 8AM on Tuesday, December 8th.
The next session of Religious Education Classes will be held
on Saturday, December 12, 2009. Classes meet from
8:00AM to 10:00AM.

The Christmas season will soon be upon
us! Since 1973, members of St. Mary’s
Choir have been providing Christmas wafers (Opłatki) for our parishioners to include in their holiday plans.
A member of the Choir will be in the vestibule of the Church to help with your Opłatki selections. For a
donation of $2 you will receive a package of 4 wafers ; small
individual packages are 75 cents each or 3/$2.00.
SAVE THE DATE! The Morton College Choir will perform a
Christmas Concert in our Church next Sunday, December
13th at 6PM. Come and enjoy some beautiful singing and fill
your heart with the spirit of Christmas!
H1N1 VIRUS
Because of the national concern regarding the
presence of the H1N! Virus, a temporary modification of the Communion Rite and the Rite of
Peace will be followed at St. Mary of Czestochowa Parish:
► Only the celebrant of the Mass will receive
Holy Communion under two species.
► Eucharistic ministers will only receive the Consecrated Bread. If
a Eucharistic minister is not well, he/she should refrain from
distributing Holy Communion.
► It will be left to the discretion of each individual person as to
whether to shake hands during the Rite of Peace. A simple gesture such as the nod of the head and a wish of “peace be with
you” would be sufficient.
The Pastor will continue to evaluate the health situation in order to
determine the appropriate time to return to the fullness of these rites
to the Liturgy.
Retirement Fund helps senior religious. “As expenses continue
to increase and economic difficulties tighten our income, we
appreciate more and more the help of the Retirement Fund,”
notes a woman religious. Your tax-deductible donation supports
the care of the elderly and frail religious and helps to provide
such basic necessities as prescription drugs and medical services. Please give generously to next week’s second collection
for the Retirement Fund for Religious.
New Towing Ordinance in the Town of Cicero:
We have been requested to place this reminder to our parishioners and friends in our parish bulletin:
“Remember that the new Towing Ordinance has changed and
will continue throughout the year. Street Cleaning WILL CONTINUE after December 1st. Remember to move your vehicles.
No towing should happen unless you have been ticketed 3
times for violating the Street Cleaning Ordinance”.

How well Mary’s own words describe
Juan Diego, “God has cast down the
mighty from their thrones and lifted up
the lowly” (Luke 1:52). Through him, for
the diverse peoples of the Americas,
indigenous and immigrant, the Mother
of God became known as their Mother
too. Cuauhtlatzin, his given name,
means “One Who Speaks Like An Eagle,” and Juan Diego faithfully delivered
the Virgin’s request that a church be
built at Tepeyac where she had appeared to him. To the skeptical bishop’s
request for a sign, Our Lady showed Juan Diego roses blooming through stony ground, despite winter’s cold. When he unfolded his tilma to present them to the bishop, imprinted there
was Mary’s image! Her blue sash and the flower over her womb
were traditional Aztec symbols of pregnancy and new life. But
her features were those of a “mestiza,” indicating mixed AztecEuropean heritage. Thus to peoples too easily prone to a “clash
of cultures,” Our Lady of Guadalupe remains the enduring icon
of unity-in-diversity, the fruit of our one baptism into Jesus, her
Son.
“Virgin of Guadalupe, Mother of the Americas, we pray to you
for all the Bishops, that they may lead the faithful along paths of
intense Christian life, of love and humble service of God and
souls. Contemplate this immense harvest, and intercede with
the Lord that He may instill a hunger for holiness in the whole
people of God, and grant abundant vocations of priests and
religious, strong in the faith and zealous dispensers of God’s
mysteries.” (Pope John Paul II)

Fiesta de la Inmaculada Concepción
de la Virgen María
En una pequeña gruta en el pueblito de
Lourdes, en Francia, la Virgen se le
apareció a una niña diciéndole: "Yo soy
la Inmaculada Concepción". Era el año
1858…
Pero… ¿Qué significa la Inmaculada
Concepción? Esta expresión alude a que
la Virgen María fue preservada del pecado desde el primer instante de su existencia humana.
Dios, por la Inmaculada Concepción de María, preparó
para su Hijo una morada digna de él.
La devoción popular por los fieles a su fiesta data del
siglo VII en Oriente; en Irlanda desde el siglo IX y, en
Inglaterra y en España, desde el siglo XI. El convencimiento de la verdad que encierra se remonta a los orígenes mismos del cristianismo, que considera a la Virgen
como la "toda Santa".
El Papa Pío IX proclamó solemnemente esta verdad el 8
de diciembre de 1854. Instauró la fecha para la celebración de la fiesta de forma conjunta para toda la Iglesia. Se
instituyó a través del dogma de la Inmaculada Concepción que dice que María "por un privilegio único, fue
preservada de la mancha (el pecado) original desde el
primer instante de su concepción". Esta fiesta nos hace
meditar sobre la inefable belleza del alma de María y,
también, sobre la belleza de toda alma santificada por la
gracia redentora de Cristo. Durante esta jornada los católicos acostumbran a asistir al oficio de la misa, como un

II Niedziela Adwentu (Rok C)
Było to w piętnastym roku rządów Tyberiusza Cezara. Gdy
Poncjusz Piłat był namiestnikiem Judei, Herod tetrarchą
Galilei, brat jego Filip tetrarchą Iturei i kraju Trachonu, Lizaniasz tetrarchą Abileny; za najwyższych kapłanów Annasza
i Kajfasza skierowane zostało słowo Boże do Jana, syna
Zachariasza, na pustyni. Obchodził więc całą okolicę nad
Jordanem i głosił chrzest nawrócenia dla odpuszczenia
grzechów, jak jest napisane w księdze mów proroka Izajasza: Głos wołającego na pustyni: Przygotujcie drogę Panu,
prostujcie ścieżki dla Niego! Każda dolina niech będzie wypełniona, każda góra i pagórek zrównane, drogi kręte niech
się staną prostymi, a wyboiste drogami gładkimi! I wszyscy
ludzie ujrzą zbawienie Boże.

Rekolekcje Adwentowe
Informujemy, że 13-go grudnia, III niedziela adwentu, rozpoczną się rekolekcje
adwentowe w naszej parafii. Rekolekcje
będzie prowadził O. Jan Król - Redemptorysta pracujący w Radiu Maryja. Rekolekcje trwać będą do środy 16-go grudnia.
Msze św. oprócz niedzieli będą celebrowane każdego dnia o godzinie 12:00PM i o 7:00PM. Przed

Prawda o Niepokalanym Poczęciu Maryi jest dogmatem wiary. Ogłosił go uroczyście 8 grudnia
1854 r. bullą Ineffabilis Deus Pius IX. Uczynił to
w Bazylice św. Piotra w Rzymie w obecności 54
kardynałów i 140 arcybiskupów i biskupów. Pisał
on tak:
Ogłaszamy, orzekamy i określamy, że nauka, która utrzymuje, iż Najświętsza Maryja Panna od
pierwszej chwili swego poczęcia - mocą szczególnej łaski i przywileju wszechmocnego Boga, mocą
przewidzianych zasług Jezusa Chrystusa, Zbawiciela rodzaju ludzkiego - została zachowana nietknięta od wszelkiej zmazy grzechu pierworodnego, jest prawdą
przez Boga objawioną i dlatego wszyscy wierni powinni w nią wytrwale i bez wahania wierzyć.
Tym samym kto by tej prawdzie zaprzeczał, sam wyłączyłby się ze
społeczności Kościoła, stałby się odstępcą i winnym herezji.
Maryja od momentu swojego poczęcia została zachowana nie tylko
od wszelkiego grzechu, którego mogłaby się dopuścić, ale również
od dziedziczonego przez nas wszystkich grzechu pierworodnego.
Stało się tak, chociaż jeszcze nie była wtedy Matką Boga. Bóg jednak, ze względu na przyszłe zbawcze wydarzenie Zwiastowania,
uchronił Maryję przed grzesznością. Maryja była więc poczęta w
łasce uświęcającej, wolna od wszelkich konsekwencji wynikających
z grzechu pierworodnego (np. śmierci - stąd w Kościele obchodzimy
uroczystość Jej Wniebowzięcia, a nie śmierci). Przywilej ten nie
miał tylko charakteru negatywnego - braku grzechu pierworodnego;
posiadał również charakter pozytywny, który wyrażał się pełnią

na wystawę poświęconą kolejnej rocznicy wprowadzenia Stanu Wojennego w Polsce. Wystawa została przygotowana
przez stowarzyszenie Solidarności Walczącej w Chicago z
inicjatywy Pana Dariusza Olszewskiego.

Kolacja wigilijna rozpocznie się
Mszą Święta o godzinie 11:00 rano.
Cena biletów: dorośli - $25.00, dzieci (od 3 do 12 lat) $10.00, po więcej informacji prosimy dzwonić do Mrs.
Teresa Zaworski (708-656-0425). Bilety można nabyć
przy wyjściu z kościoła lub w biurze parafialnym w
godzinach urzędowania.
Także można nabyć losy loterii wigilijnej które znajdują
się w parafialnym biuletynie. Cena jednego losu wynosi
$1, pięciu $5. Losy wraz z pieniędzmi prosimy włożyć do
koperty i wrzucić wraz z niedzielną kolektą.
Kartki Świąteczne
Gorąco zapraszamy do nabywania przepięknych kartek świątecznych z okazji nadchodzących świąt
Bożego Narodzenia. Kartki można
kupić u Pana Andrzeja przy wyjściu z kościoła.
Opłatki
Na naszym wigilijnym stole nie może zabraknąć tradycyjnego, polskiego, opłatka.
Tradycja ta wpisana jest bardzo głęboko
w naszą kulturę, historię i sposób przeżywania Świąt Bożego Narodzenia.
Opłatki można nabyć przy wyjściu z kościoła po każdej Mszy Świętej.
