The first ever miniature park in Pomerania is located in the village of Strysza
Buda near Mirachowo, not far from Kartuzy. Here you can see dozens of
famous buildings in miniature, scaled 1:25. There are, of course, all the major
sights of Kashubia – the Collegiate Church of Kartuzy, the Wybicki
manor-house from Będomin, Bytów Castle, the Sanctuary of Sianowo – but
also the Statue of Liberty, the Sphinx, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, and the
Great Wall of China. Recently several objects from Gdansk have been added to
the gallery: Our Lady’s Church, the Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers,
and the gate of the Gdansk Shipyard. All miniatures are made from materials
that withstand both wet and frosty weather, so they remain on exhibition all
year round. But the Kashubian Miniature Park does not only feature buildings,
but also characters from children’s literature and films. In its “Fairyland”
section you get to meet over 60 of your childhood friends, including modern
characters like Spiderman or Shrek. For its youngest guests the park also
provides a playground and a mini-zoo. There is also a souvenir shop and a
restaurant.
