This trail study will examine potential
local trail routes to connect to the
Farmington Canal Heritage Trail (FCHT),
which is a multi-use trail stretching
from New Haven, Connecticut, to
Northampton, Massachusetts.
At approximately 84 miles long, most of
the trail has been completed, but
a significant gap exists in Plainville
and Southington. This study will also
examine how to close the gap between
the multi-use trail at the CTfastrak
station in downtown New Britain and
the soon to be identified trail alignment
in Plainville.
El estudio del sendero examinará las rutas posibles
de su ciudad para que lo conecten al Farmington
Canal Heritage Trail (FCHT) el cual es un sendero para
múltiples usos que se extiende desde New Haven,
Connecticut, hasta Northampton, Massachusetts.
La mayor parte del sendero que tiene una extensión
de aproximadamente 84 millas ya está finalizado,
pero aún existe una brecha significativa en Plainville y
en Southington. El estudio también examinará cómo

Connecticut do Northampton, Massachusetts.
Szlak o długości około 84 mil został w większości
ukończony, istnieje jednak znaczna luka w Plainville
i Southington. To badanie również zbada, jak
zlikwidować lukę między szlakiem wielofunkcyjnym
na stacji CTfastrak w zachodniej części centrum New
Britain w kierunku wkrótce ustalonego wpasowania
szlaku w Plainville.

w Twoim mieście?”, jest bardzo ważna, aby odkryć
możliwości.
To increase connectivity and mobility, the study
team will reach out to the greater community to
better understand where folks would like to go and
how they would like to get there. Through creative
workshop sessions and engaging public meetings
over the course of the next 18 months, the study
team will forge a greater understanding of the new
multi-use trail’s context and desired functionality to
prioritize safety, comfort, and mobility for all users.
To create the right trail to meet the needs
of the community, we need your help!
Determining how you use the trail and where you
would like to go are important steps in creating
attractive trails that promote economic and
community vitality. Examining questions like “How
do you want to move around your city?”, and
“What do you think the role of the car/bike in
your city is?” are very important to discovering the
possibilities.
