Co się stanie, gdy w pięknych muzeach i galeriach zbierzesz gromadę entuzjastów
na dwa intensywne dni poznawania dobrych praktyk połączonych z warsztatami
o cyfrowych narzędziach i usługach? Powstanie ,,We are Museums 2014”; spotkanie, które w tym roku odbyło się w pięknej Warszawie, w Polsce.

We Are Museums (pol. Muzea to My) to inicjatywa gromadząca młodych i doświadczonych specjalistów z dziedziny sztuki, którzy pragną się spotykać i wymieniać poglądami, by wspólnie osiągnąć
dwa nadrzędne cele: otwarcie instytucji kultury oraz zbudowanie samowystarczalnej, opartej na
umiejętnościach sieci profesjonalistów, promującej kreatywne i przyszłościowe modele i pomysły. Program konferencji obejmował wystąpienia doświadczonych specjalistów związanych z najbardziej rozpoznawalnymi w Europie i na świecie instytucjami, takimi jak Pałac
w Wersalu, Tate, Muzeum Wiktorii i Alberta, Muzeum Żydowskie w Berlinie, Rijksmuseum
w Amsterdamie, Nordiska Museet w Sztokholmie, nowojorskie Metropolitan Museum of

What happens when you gather a load of enthusiastic people together for two intense days of
best-practise experience mashed up with hands-on digital service design workshops, out in
beautiful museums and galleries? This is We are Museums 2014, which this year was in the
lovely city of Warsaw, Poland.

We Are Museums gathers junior and senior professionals in the arts sector who are keen to meet,
exchange experience and build together towards two main goals: opening art institutions to
the people and building a self-sufficient, skills-based network of professionals to promote
open and forward-thinking models and ideas. The conference’s line-up has included seasoned professionals from the most recognised
institutions in Europe and worldwide such as the Palace of Versailles, Tate, the Victoria and
Albert Museum, the Berlin Jewish Museum, the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Nordiska
Museet in Stockholm, the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art and more. We Are Museums
also caters to institutions and private initiatives of all shapes and sizes. 372

Art i wiele innych. We Are Museums adresowany jest także do organizacji i prywatnych inicjatyw działających w mniejszej i większej skali, o różnej strukturze organizacyjnej. Inicjatywa We Are Museums powstała we Francji, a teraz dociera tam, gdzie rodzą się
ciekawe pomysły oparte na współpracy – do Europy Wschodniej. Pierwsza edycja spotkań odbyła się w Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej (ŠMC) w Wilnie, a druga miała miejsce 5-6 czerwca
2014 roku w warszawskim Państwowym Muzeum Etnograficznym oraz w Narodowej Galerii Sztuki – Zachęta.
Konferencja stworzyła okazję do bliskiej współpracy z lokalnymi środowiskami i czołowymi instytucjami, aby dzięki temu zaprezentować kulturalną dynamikę miast-gospodarzy. 160
uczestników z ponad 15 krajów miało szansę się spotkać, nawiązać kontakty i wysłuchać 27
prelegentów z całego świata. WAM zgromadziło zarówno przedstawicieli organizacji non-profit, jak i biznesu. Podczas tych dwóch dni wspólnie wzięli udział w wielu różnych wydarzeniach, m.in. w warsztatach bazujących na wcześniejszych wizytach w innych warszawskich
muzeach: mieli okazję pracować przy prawdziwym projekcie opartym na twórczej współpracy. Wszyscy okazali się bardzo pomysłowi przy tworzeniu koncepcji, jak ożywić muzea i wręcz
zalali Muzeum Etnograficzne nowoczesnymi technologiami, przy okazji wciągając w projekt
nowych „WAM-ersów”. We Are Museums ma nadzieję powitać na kolejnej konferencji w Berlinie
w czerwcu przyszłego roku wszystkich, którzy z równym entuzjazmem i chęcią rozwoju podchodzą do swojej pracy (zob. http://www.wearemuseums.com).

We Are Museums originates from France and travels where fresh ideas and connections are
being forged: Eastern Europe. The first edition took place at the Contemporary Art Centre
(ŠMC) in Vilnius, Lithuania, while the second event was set in Warsaw, Poland, at the State
Ethnographic Museum and Zachęta – National Gallery of Art on 5-6 June 2014.
The event was an occasion to work in close partnership with local energies and leading
institutions to shed light on the dynamism of the host cities. 160 participants from over
15 countries were able to meet, network and hear 27 speakers from all over the world.
Participants to WAM originated from both non-profit entities and businesses and took part in
a number of different formats during 2 days, including a creative workshop (based on visits in
the Warsaw museums), where they got a taste of building a real project thanks to teamwork
and creativity. All came up with imaginative ideas to make museums more alive. They also
“invaded” the “Ethno” digitally and made new “WAMers” along the way. We Are Museums
hopes to gather the same enthusiastic people who want to change the game next June in
