ROSARY RALLY
Join your fellow Catholics from many Long
Island parishes in prayerful petition to the
Queen of the Most Holy Rosary.
The mandate from Health and Human Services calls
for fines of $100 per day per employee on Catholic
hospitals, and other religious institutions, as of
January 1, 2014, if they do not comply with new
mandates for health insurance coverage of products
and services that directly violate Catholic teachings.
The threat to the 1st Amendment, freedom of religion
and conscience is critical and imminent.
Please stand and pray with us on Saturday, October
5th, from 10:00AM to 11:30AM in the front parking
lot of Good Samaritan Hospital located at 1000
Montauk Hwy, West Islip. Also, speakers will give us
the latest news on this imminent threat to our Catholic
Hospitals. Limited seating will be available for the

ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY
The month of October is dedicated to Our Blessed Virgin
Mother. We encourage our parishioners to take some time
to sit in her presence thanking her for all our blessings.
Please join the Rosary Altar Society in the Church on
Monday, October 7th at 7PM, the Feast Day of Our Lady
of the Rosary. There will be a very short installation of a
new member, followed by the recitation of the Holy Rosary
said in English, Polish and Spanish. Refreshments will be
served in the Lower Church Hall immediately following
this devotion.

STAND UP FOR LIFE
On October 6, 2013, 2:00PM-3:30PM (rain or
shine) there will be a Stand-up for Life Event.
Signs will be provided at the sites on Routes 110
and 25, Huntington, and off the LIE exit 70,
Manorville. STAND UP FOR LIFE is a powerful
witness to the sanctity of life. We are part of
the National Life Chain with over 1700 similar
events occuring the same day throughout the
United States and Canada.
OUTREACH PROGRAM
Just an FYI - The Catholic Health Services’ nurses that were
here on Sunday to administer free flu vaccine shots (over 300
of them) gave Outreach something else to boast about. After
the session was over the nurses went out of their way to let us
know what a great response they received from the people of
Copiague. You showed them great appreciation for their
kindness and generosity in volunteering their time and
expertise to come to Copiague. I told them that there are no
better people anywhere than in Copiague. They heartily agreed
and promised to come again next year.
Now to the needs of the Food Pantry...
Although we are not dangerously low on anything, we have
noticed a pretty serious increase in food requests from
parishioners. The items we need most are canned vegetables,
tuna fish and fruit, rice, pasta, shelf milk and macaroni and
cheese.

soleado o lluvioso) habrá eventos “Presente por
la Vida”, situados en las Rutas 110 y 25,
Huntington y en la LIE salida 79, Manorville.
PRESENTE POR LA VIDA es un poderoso
testimonio por la santificación de la vida. Somos
parte de la Cadena Nacional por la Vida, con otros
1700 eventos similares ocurriendo el mismo día
en los Estados Unidos y Canadá.
SOCIEDAD DEL ROSARIO DEL ALTAR
El mes de Octubre está dedicado a Nuestra Santísima Madre
la Virgen María. Hacemos un llamado a todos los parroquianos a tomar un poco de tiempo y agradecerle por todas
nuestra bendiciones. Por favor acompáñe a la Sociedad del
Rosario, el próximo Lunes 7 de Octubre, a las 7:00PM en la
Iglesia. Ese día es la Festividad de Nuestra Señora del
Rosario. Habrá una breve instalación de un nuevo miembro,
y rezo del Santo Rosario en los tres idiomas (Inglés, Español
y Polaco). Posteriormente se servirán refrescos en el sótano

los asaltos a la dignidad de la vida humana están
ocurriendo de muchas maneras. La Oficina del Respeto a
la Vida está encargada de profundizar nuestro ya fuerte
compromiso por actividades pro-vida y educación
parroquial. Apoye por favor esta obra vital a través de la

para Adultos (Programa en Inglés)
El Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos es el
proceso para:
1) No Cristianos, 18 años de edad o mayores,
considerando la posibilidad de convertirse en
Católicos Romanos.
2) Aquellos de 18 años de edad o mayores, de otra
fe Cristiana, considerando la posibilidad de
abrazar la fe Católica Romana
3) Para bautizados Católicos Romanos ,de 18 años
de edad o mayores, quienes no hayan recibido
el Sacramento de Primera Comunión o
Confirmación, o ambos.
Tiempo: Dos horas los Domingos por la tarde lo cual
incluirá Misa y clase.
Las clases comenzarán al final de Octubre, y serán
ofrecidas en uno de estos horarios: de 12PM a 2PM o
de 1PM a 3PM. Si usted, un pariente o amigo, está

WTAJEMNICZENIA DOROSŁYCH
Obrzęd chrześcijańskiego wtajemniczenia dorosłych
jest procesem dla:
1) osób nie będących chrześcijanami w wieku lat 18 lub
powyżej, rozważających możliwość przystąpienia do
Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego,
2) chrześcijan innych wyznań w wieku lat 18 lub powyżej , rozważających możliwość przystąpienia do Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego,
3) ochrzczonych członków Kościoła Rzymskokatolickiego w wieku lat 18 lub powyżej, którzy nie otrzymałi
sakramentu Eucharystii lub Bierzmowania - lub obu
sakramentów.
Czas: dwie godziny w niedzielne popołudnia, które
obejmą Mszę św. oraz zajęcia. Zajęcia rozpoczną się
pod koniec października i będą odbywały się w godz:
12:00- 14:00 lub 13:00-15:00. Jeżeli ktoś z Państwa
przyjaciół lub członków rodzin byłby zainteresowany, to

NIEDZIELA SZACUNKU DLA ŻYCIA
Niedziela 6 października jest w Kościele w USA ogłoszona
Niedzielą Szacunku dla Życia. W tym dniu przeprowadzona
zostanie druga kolekta, z której dochód przeznaczony będzie
na promocję życia oraz na pomoc dla samotnych matek.
Prosimy o hojność.
“STAŃ DLA ŻYCIA” - W niedzielę 6 października , w
godz. od 14:00 do 15:30 (niezależnie od warunków pogodowych) odbędzie się także protest “Stand up for Life” (Stań
dla Życia) na drodze 110 i 25 (Jericho Turnpike) w Hun tington oraz przy zjeździe 70 w Manorville. Zachęcamy
Państwa do przyłączenia się do tego wydarzenia. Tego sa mego dnia protest ten odbędzie sie w około 1700 miejscach

poświęconym Błogosławionej Dziewicy Maryi. Dziękujmy

PROGRAM POMOCY SOCJALNEJ
Pielęgniarki zatrudnione w Katolickiej Służbie Zdrowia, które
w ubiegłą niedzielę, wykonywały w naszej parafii bezpłatne
szczepienia przeciw grypie (ponad 300 szczepionek) opowiedziały nam o tym, jak wspaniale tego dnia zachowywali
się ludzie z Copiague. Okazali im Państwo wdzięczność za
ich uprzejmość, poświęcony czas i bezpłatną pracę.
W odpowiedzi od nas uslyszały, że nigdzie nie ma ludzi lepszych niż w Copiague. Pielęgniarki zgodziły się z tym
stwierdzeniem i obiecały przybyć do nas ponownie w
przyszłym roku.
Do naszego magazynu z żywnością potrzebujemy obecnie:
w puszkach- warzyw, owoców i tuńczyka; ryżu, maka- ronu,
mleka niewymagającego przechowywania w lodówce oraz
makaronu z serem.

GRUPA WSPARCIA DLA OSÓB OSAMOTNIONYCH
Szpital Miłosiernego Samarytanina w West Islip organizuje
grupę wsparcia dla osób trwających w bólu po stracie
ukochanej osoby. Spotkania grupy odbywać się będą przez
8 tygodni.Pierwsze z nich odbędzie się we wtorek 1 października w godz; 18:30-20:30. Wymagane są wcześniejsze
zapisy. Bliższe informacje/zapisy - Biuro Opieki Duszpasterskiej, tel. (631) 376-4103. Ta grupa zorganizowana jest
dla osób, które straciły bliską osobę przed 30 czerwca tego
roku.
“A BIG HEART OPEN TO GOD” *
It was very refreshing to see the smiling face of Pope
Francis on the front page of Newsday on Friday, 9/20.
However, I was very wary of the giant headlines next to the
picture, “Pope’s Message: CHURCH MUST CHANGE”.
Knowing how newspaper editors print headlines and
articles to reflect their own spin, I knew immediately that I
had to read the entire interview myself, and not be satisfied
with Newsday’s coverage. And so I did – twice thus far. (It
can be found at americamagazine.org/pope-interview.)
The title “A Big Heart Open to God-an Interview with
Pope Francis” perfectly expresses what I found therein. It
contains great insight into Pope Francis’ view of himself,
the Church, and his role. For example, he states that he
sees clearly “that the thing the church needs most today is
the ability to heal wounds and to warm the hearts of the
faithful . . .”
It is a very long interview, 13 printed pages. To
summarize even one idea from it could not do it justice in
this small space. I would urge anyone interested in
growing with the Church to read the interview for oneself. I
would like to leave you with one short excerpt of Pope
Francis’ thought, the one that touched me most deeply.
“I have a dogmatic certainty: God is in every
person’s life. God is in everyone’s life. Even if the life of a
person has been a disaster, even if it is destroyed by vices,
drugs or anything else—God is in this person’s life. You
can, you must try to seek God in every human life.
Although the life of a person is a land full of thorns and
weeds, there is always a space in which the good seed can

grow. You have to trust God.”
