Przegl¹d Strategiczny 2016, Issue 9 INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS Submissions to “Strategic Review” must follow the journal’s style guide, including formatting, length and references. 1. Articles should range from 20 to 25 pages. 2. An abstract of not more that 250 words should be included at the end of the article, together with key words. 3. Articles should be submitted in Word format, Times New Roman 12, doubled-spaced with 2,5 cm margins. 4. Spelling should follow the Oxford English Dictionary. 5. Quotations should be indicated by using double inverted commas. 6. Italics should be used for titles of books, titles of articles, and short foreign phrases or names only. 7. The Harvard system of referencing is preferred. This consists of: a) brief citation in the text; and b) a list of references at the end of the text. 8. Citations should have the following form: (Barber, 2003: 24), (Friedent, 1998: 63). 9. References should be cited in an alphabetical order (without internal division) in the following form: – books: Barber B. R. (2003), Strong Democracy Participatory Politics for a New Age, Berkeley–Los Angeles–London. – articles in books: Sobczak J. (2008), The Disputes over the Definition of Terrorism and Polish Law, in: Terrorist Pandora’s Box. Analysis of chosen terrorist issue, (eds.) J. Babiak, S. Wojciechowski, Poznan. – articles: Friedent L. A. (1998), New Citizenship, „Media & Society”, Vol. 18, No. 2. – newspaper articles: US-Russia nuclear treaty finalised, „USA Today”, 2.05.2001. 10. In case of Internet sources, in references actual URLs should be displayed. 11. In case of articles with CrossRef DOIs, they should always be displayed as permanent URLs (according to guidelines defined by Crossref, available at: http://www.crossref.org/02publishers/doi_display_guidelines.html). 12. The use of footnotes is to be limited to cases where a substantive point related to the main text need to be made. The number of footnotes in the article should not exceed 10. 13. Submissions should be accompanied by a curriculum vitae of each author (in a separate rtf. file) and information indicating the author’s home address, e-mail address and affiliation. 14. Authors of the articles recommended for publication are obligated to submit (by regular mail) an assurance that their paper is an original work and has not been published, sub- 450 Instructions for authors mitted, or accepted elsewhere in any form, as well as an assurance that copyrights of third parties have not been breached. 15. Authors of the articles recommended for publication are required to submit (by regular mail) the Transfer of Copyright Agreement form. According to the Open Access Policy adopted by the journal, authors of scholary articles accepted for publication in the periodical „Strategic Review” grant the publisher (Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznañ) an exclusive right to publish their articles in traditional printed form and in electronic form (via the Internet site of the journal; AMUR – Adam Mickiewicz University’s open-access repository; PRESSto open-access platform; and CEEOL database). Consequently, articles provided to the „Strategic Review” publisher will be stored, preserved, and made accessible in digital form. Deposits are made as early as possible, no later than the date of formal publication. In case of co-authored atricles, each joint author grants the publisher an exclusive right mentioned above.
