The TECCO slope stabilisation system was selected to stabilise a new cutting, as part of the M80 ring
road upgrade. The cutting, comprising of highly weathered basalt, was 84 degrees and up to 10m in
height. Due to the highly weathered nature of the rock, an erosion control mat was placed underneath
the mesh. Approximately 2500m2 of mesh was fixed to 5m long soil nails on a 2 x 2m, staggered
pattern.
