Drodzy Koleżanki i Koledzy, Czytelnicy „Psychogeriatrii Polskiej”
Podobnie jak w latach ubiegłych, ostatni tegoroczny numer czasopisma nawiązuje swą zawartością do organizowanego w dniach 7-8 grudnia III Kongresu
Polskiego Towarzystwa Psychogeriatrycznego we Wrocławiu.
Tworząc program kongresu, skupiono się tym razem na nowych wyzwaniach
w diagnostyce i terapii otępień, a tym samym na aktualizacji dotychczasowego
stanu wiedzy w tym zakresie.
Oprócz wykładów w trakcie trwania Kongresu odbędą się również warsztaty dotyczące stosowania Kwestionariusza Oceny Potrzeb Osób Starszych
(Camberwell Assessment of Need for the Elderly, CANE), prowadzone przez
Profesorów Martina Orella z University College London (UCL) i Rajmundo Mateosa
z Uniwersytetu Santiago de Compostella oraz Panią dr hab. Joannę Rymaszewską z wrocławskiej Katedry i Kliniki Psychiatrii. Sięgając po ten numer kwartalnika, niewątpliwie zauważą Państwo, że tematyce CANE poświęcony jest także
opublikowany tu artykuł autorstwa Martina Orella i współpracowników.
Mamy nadzieję, że wartościowa poznawczo treść artykułów i abstraktów
kongresowych zachęci Czytelników do lektury nie tylko tego numeru, ale także
kolejnych.
Jednocześnie Redakcja „Psychogeriatrii Polskiej” przypomina Państwu, że regularna prenumerata pisma pozwala na uzyskanie 5 punktów edukacyjnych.

From the Editor
Dear Colleagues and Readers of
the Polish Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry
As in previous years, the contents of this last issue of the publishing year revolve
around the Third Congress of the Polish Geriatric Psychiatry Association, which
will be held here in Wroclaw, 7-8 December 2006. In preparing the program
for this year’s congress, the organizers have focused on new challenges in the
diagnosis and treatment of the dementias, and by the same token on updating
general knowledge on this subject.
In addition to the papers that will be read during the Congress, there will also
be workshops dealing with the application of the Camberwell Assessment of
Need for the Elderly (CANE), led by Prof. Martin Orell from University College
London, Prof. Rajmundo Mateos from the University of Santiago de Compostella, and Associate Professor Joanna Rymaszewska from the Department of
Psychiatry at the Medical University of Wroclaw. In looking through this issue
of the Polish Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, you will doubtless note that there
is also an article devoted to CANE, contributed by Martin Orell et al.
We sincerely hope that the intellectual wealth of the articles and abstracts
we have offered here will encourage you to read not only this issue, but
successive issues in the future.
At the same time, the Editorial Staff of the Polish Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry
would like to remind you that the Polish Scientific Research Commission awards
