Praying the Way of the
Cross as a devotion began in Jerusalem, with
Christian pilgrims tracing the spots linked with
the Passion and Death
of Jesus. When travel to
the Holy Land became
difficult, churches began
including fourteen stations on their walls where
the faithful could make the “Stations of the Cross”
spiritually. The devotion is intended to help
Christ’s followers join their own sufferings to His.
We invite you to participate in The Way of the
Cross live prepared by the Hispanic community

to be observed by all

older on all the Fridays of
Lent.
Good Friday is a day of
Fast and abstinence.
Many find it helpful to go beyond Sunday Mass
and they use Lent as a chance to broaden and
deepen their spiritual lives:
► Celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation
► Attend Mass during the week.
► Read and pray with the Mass readings for
each day.
► Pray the rosary
► Spend time in Eucharistic Adoration
► Do some extra spiritual reading

As you know the process of getting Sunday envelopes
to our parishioners has changed. We would like to
make sure everyone who wants Sunday envelopes gets
them. We have a company that mails the envelopes to
you, every two months an updated list must be sent to
them in order to mail your Sunday envelopes. With
that being said, we have been updating our list every
month to make sure it is possible. Unfortunately,
there are 400 people who have not donated since January 1, 2009. We are not sure if your envelopes were
received. We would like to ask you for a favor. If
you have not received your envelopes, please let us
know. If there were any changes such as address or
phone number, please let us know as soon as possible.

Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion
When Jesus and his disciples drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany at the Mount of
Olives, he sent two of his disciples and said to
them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately on entering it, you will find a colt tethered on
which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it
here. If anyone should say to you, 'Why are you
doing this?' reply, 'The Master has need of it and
will send it back here at once.'" So they went off
and found a colt tethered at a gate outside on the
street, and they untied it. Some of the bystanders
said to them, "What are you doing, untying the
colt?" They answered them just as Jesus had told
them to, and they permitted them to do it. So they
brought the colt to Jesus and put their cloaks over
it. And he sat on it. Many people spread their
cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy
branches that they had cut from the fields. Those
preceding him as well as those following kept crying out: "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the
name of the Lord! Blessed is the kingdom of our
father David that is to come! Hosanna in the highest!"

The Days of Holy Week
Holy Week is the last week of Lent, the week immediately preceding Easter Sunday. It is observed in many
Christian churches as a time to commemorate and enact
the suffering (Passion) and death of Jesus through various observances and services of worship. While some
church traditions focus specifically on the events of the
last week of Jesus’ life, many of the liturgies symbolize
larger themes that marked Jesus’ entire ministry. Observances during this week range from daily liturgical
services in churches to informal meetings in homes to
participate in a Christian version of the Passover Seder.
In Catholic tradition, the conclusion to the week is
called the Easter Triduum (a triduum is a space of three
days usually accompanying a church festival or holy
days that are devoted to special prayer and observance).
The Easter Triduum begins Thursday evening of Holy
Week with Eucharist and concludes with evening
prayers Easter Sunday
The Rectory office will be closed on the
following dates: Holy Thursday, April 9th,
Good Friday, April 10th and on Monday,
April 13th.
Church Cleaning: All willing, helping hands
are welcome to come to help to tidy up our
church on Monday, April 6th after the 8 AM
Mass. Any help you can offer will be greatly
appreciated!

Domingo de Ramos de la Pasión del Señor
Se acercaban a Jerusalén, por Betfagé y Betania,
junto al monte de los Olivos, y Jesús mandó a dos
de sus discípulos, diciéndoles: Id a la aldea de enfrente y, en cuanto entréis, encontraréis un borrico
atado, que nadie ha montado todavía. Desatadlo y
traedlo. Y si alguien os pregunta por qué lo hacéis,
contestadle: "El Señor lo necesita y lo devolverá
pronto." Fueron y encontraron el borrico en la calle,
atado a una puerta, y lo soltaron. Algunos de los
presentes les preguntaron: ¿Por qué tenéis que
desatar el borrico? Ellos les contestaron como
había dicho Jesús; y se lo permitieron. Llevaron el
borrico, le echaron encima sus mantos, y Jesús se
montó. Muchos alfombraron el camino con sus
mantos, otros con ramas cortadas en el campo. Los
que iban delante y detrás gritaban: Hosanna, bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor. Bendito el reino que llega, el de nuestro padre David. ¡Hosanna
en el cielo!

Próximas clase de religión (CCD) vamos a
tener el día 18 y 25 de Abril de 2009. Las
clases empezarán de costumbre a las
8:00AM y terminaran a las 10:00AM. Los
estudiantes que en este año van a recibir el
sacramento de Primera Comunión o Confirmación deben estar presentes obligatoriamente en las clases. También el pago por las clases deben
hacer hasta 25 de Abril.
Los sobres para las colectas.
Como ya saben, nuestro sistema de enviar los
sobres de colectas dominicales ha cambiado.
Ahora tenemos una compañía que distribuye
los sobres a domicilio.
Queremos
asegurarnos que todo el que quiera los sobres
dominicales los reciba. Cada dos meses una
lista que esta al día, es mandada a la
compañía para que ellos manden los sobres a las personas que los
quieran recibir. Nosotros hemos puesto nuestra lista al día de las
personas registradas, y de personas que se están registrando cada
mes. Desafortunadamente, hay 400 personas que no han donado
desde 1ero de enero del 2009. No estamos seguros si aun han
recibido los nuevos sobres. Les queremos pedir que por favor si no
han recibido los sobres, llame a la rectoría. Si ha hecho cambios como
de domicilio o de teléfono, por favor déjenos saber lo más pronto
posible.

La Semana Santa
En la Semana Santa se celebran los misterios de salvación realizados
por Cristo en los últimos días desde su entrada mesiánica en la ciudad
de Jerusalén.
La semana santa comienza con el domingo de Ramos de la Pasión
Señor, que une el triunfo de Cristo aclamado como Mesías por los habitantes de Jerusalén y el anuncio de la pasión con la proclamación de la
narración evangélica en la Misa.
Los ramos no son algo así como un talismán, ni un simple objeto bendito, sino el signo de la participación gozosa en el rito procesional, expresión de la fe de la Iglesia en Cristo, Mesías y Señor, que va hacia la
muerte para la salvación de todos los hombres. Por eso, este domingo
tiene un doble carácter, de gloria y de sufrimiento, que es lo propio del
Misterio Pascual.
En la mañana del Jueves Santo (o en otro día cercano), el obispo celebra, junto con sus sacerdotes, la Misa Crismal o de los Santos Oleos,
en la que se bendicen los óleos que se usarán para la celebración de
los sacramentos.
El jueves, el viernes y el sábado santos, o Triduo Pascual, simbolizan el
cambio del mundo viejo al nuevo, son los días de renovación a través
de la búsqueda y muerte de Jesús. Estos días son de liturgias especiales y no se ofrecen Misas personales de ningún tipo.
En estos días se recuerda la Ultima Cena de Jesús, con sus 12 discípulos; la traición de Judas, que entregó a Jesucristo para que fuera
sentenciado y condenado a muerte; el Vía Crucis y la crucifixión.
El Vía Crucis es el camino de la cruz, el recorrido que hace Jesús coronado de espinas, cargando el travesaño donde será clavado, hacia la
cima del monte del Calvario. El sábado de gloria se celebra la vuelta
del espíritu de Cristo al reino de Dios. En nuestro país, los fieles acostumbran arrojarse agua. El domingo de resurrección se alcanza el momento de mayor júbilo en este calendario: Jesucristo vuelve desde la
muerte.

Gdy się zbliżali do Jerozolimy, do Betfage i Betanii
na Górze Oliwnej, posłał dwóch spośród swoich
uczniów i rzekł im: Idźcie do wsi, która jest przed
wami, a zaraz przy wejściu do niej znajdziecie oślę
uwiązane, na którym jeszcze nikt z ludzi nie siedział.
Odwiążcie je i przyprowadźcie tutaj! A gdyby was
kto pytał, dlaczego to robicie, powiedzcie: Pan go
potrzebuje i zaraz odeśle je tu z powrotem. Poszli i
znaleźli oślę przywiązane do drzwi z zewnątrz, na
ulicy. Odwiązali je, a niektórzy ze stojących tam pytali ich: Co to ma znaczyć, że odwiązujecie oślę? Oni
zaś odpowiedzieli im tak, jak Jezus polecił. I pozwolili im. Przyprowadzili więc oślę do Jezusa i zarzucili
na nie swe płaszcze, a On wsiadł na nie. Wielu zaś
słało swe płaszcze na drodze, a inni gałązki ścięte na
polach. A ci, którzy Go poprzedzali i którzy szli za
Nim, wołali: Hosanna! Błogosławiony Ten, który
przychodzi w imię Pańskie. Błogosławione królestwo
ojca naszego Dawida, które przychodzi. Hosanna na
wysokościach!

Wielki Tydzień - czas bezpośrednio poprzedzający Święta Wielkanocne - wykształcał
się w liturgii stopniowo. Początkowo sam post przed
Wielkanocą trwał zaledwie 3
dni. Z czasem wprowadzono
okres 40-dniowego postu - i
wyróżniono Wielki Tydzień.
Na treść wydarzeń Wielkiego Tygodnia składają się triumfalny wjazd Pana Jezusa do Jerozolimy w Niedzielę Palmową, ostatnie dyskusje Chrystusa z Sanhedrynem w świątyni, przepowiednie Chrystusa o zburzeniu Jerozolimy i o końcu
świata, Ostatnia Wieczerza i Męka Pańska, wreszcie
chwalebne Zmartwychwstanie. Obrzędy liturgiczne
tych dni są tak wkomponowane, aby ułatwić odtworzenie tych wypadków, bezpośrednio związanych z tajemnicą odkupienia rodzaju ludzkiego, pobudzić do refleksji i wielkiej wdzięczności, doprowadzić do pojednania
się w sakramencie Pokuty, odnowić w Kościele pierwotną gorliwość w służbie Bożej. Wielki Tydzień ma
tak wysoką rangę w liturgii Kościoła, że nie dopuszcza
nawet uroczystości. Gdyby zaś takie wypadły, odkłada
się je na czas po Wielkanocy i jej oktawie (np. uroczystość Zwiastowania).
Wielki Tydzień otwiera Niedziela Palmowa. Nazwa
tego dnia pochodzi od wprowadzonego w XI w. zwyczaju święcenia palm. Liturgia bowiem wspomina uroczysty wjazd Jezusa do Jerozolimy, bezpośrednio poprzedzający Jego Mękę i Śmierć na Krzyżu. Witające
go tłumy rzucały na drogę płaszcze oraz gałązki, wołając: "Hosanna Synowi Dawidowemu". O uroczystym
wjeździe Pana Jezusa do Jerozolimy piszą wszyscy
czterej Ewangeliści. Samo to świadczy, jak wielką rangę przywiązują do tego wydarzenia z życia Jezusa
Chrystusa.
"Święte Triduum Paschalne Męki i Zmartwychwstania
Pańskiego jaśnieje jako szczyt całego roku liturgicznego. Triduum Paschalne rozpoczyna się Mszą Wieczerzy Pańskiej, osiąga swój szczyt w Wigilii Paschalnej i
kończy się nieszporami Zmartwychwstania Pańskiego"
- czytamy w kalendarzu liturgicznym. Wielki Czwartek,
Wielki Piątek i Wielka Sobota stanowią trzy etapy jednego wydarzenia zbawczego, którym jest Pascha, czyli przejście Jezusa Chrystusa przez mękę i śmierć do
nowego życia w zmartwychwstaniu. To Misterium Paschalne Chrystusa jest źródłem życia nadprzyrodzonego dla tych, którzy przez wiarę i chrzest zostali w Nim
zanurzeni.

Mszy św. o godz. 10.30 odbywa się
kurs przygotowujący rodziców i
chrzestnych do chrztu dziecka.
Osoby zamierzające ochrzcić dziecko w
naszej parafii są proszone o zgłoszenie
się na ten kurs prze chrztem dziecka.
Dlatego należy pamiętać, aby:
► zgłosić się do kancelarii parafialnej
przynajmniej półtora miesiąca prze
chrztem. (Aby uczestniczyć w kursie
przygotowującym)
► Przy zapisaniu chrztu jest wymagany akt urodzenia dziecka.
Straż przy Grobie Jezusa
Bardzo prosimy górali w pięknych regionalnych strojach, aby
wystawili straż honorową przy Grobie Pana Jezusa w Wielki Piątek tj. 10-go kwietnia. Bóg zapłać za wasze świadectwo wiary.
W każdą niedzielę o godzinie 10:00AM
ma miejsce lektura Listów św. Pawła
Apostoła w naszym kościele.
Sprzątanie Kościoła !
Ze wzglądu na zbliżające się Święta bardzo
prosimy o pomoc w sprzątaniu kościoła w
poniedziałek 6-go kwietnia o godz. 8:30 z rana i
ofiarowanie jednej lub dwóch godzin swojego
czasu na przedświąteczne czyszczenie kościoła. Prosimy
przynieść swoje narzędzia.
Zapraszamy do nabywania u Pana Andrzeja wielkanocnych kartek świątecznych oraz palm.
