THE THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER
JESUS appears to seven of His disciples, among them Peter, who proclaims his unfailing love for the Lord. Jesus
commissions him to feed the sheep. Later, in the face of
persecution, Peter and the apostles proclaim the name of
Jesus, the Lamb who was slain and who rescues us from
death.
TODAY (4/10) - SECOND COLLECTION –REGIONAL
SCHOOL TAX - We ask for your most deeply appreciated
support for this Archdiocesan Collection, for which every parish in our archdiocese is assessed towards the financial support of the regional schools which remain open (and to which
many of our former students currently attend). We humbly ask
for your very kind and generous support for this important
monthly Collection; which is extremely instrumental in helping to keep our area Catholic Faith-based schools financially
solvent. For your convenience, additional Regional School
Tax Envelopes are available in the vestibule of our Church.
TODAY, APRIL 10 , 2016
The Westchester Pulaski Association, Inc.
2016 ANNUAL AWARDS LUNCHEON

the late Mr. Ronald L. Baker
at Castle Royale (formerly The Polish Center)
from noon to 2:30 PM.
This year’s Award Luncheon’s highly anticipated program will include: the Presentation of the 2016 Scholarship Awards to accomplished, college-bound Award recipients; and the Presentation of the 2016 “Citizen of the
Year” Award to this year’s most extraordinary and well
deserving honorees, Mr. Mariusz Ledwoń and Mr. Bogdan Nowak. However, the focal-point of this afternoon’s
agenda is the Sashing of our 2016 Gen. Pulaski Day Parade Marshal, none-other-than our beloved Pastor, REV.
TOMAS P. WILK OSPPE; and the Crowning of our beautiful 2016 Miss Polonia, Miss Natalie Ogorek, and our
lovely 2016 Junior Miss Polonia, Miss Olivia Głogowska.
With utmost joy and profound pride, we extend our
deepest CONGRATULATIONS to ALL of today’s extraordinary honorees for achieving this coveted pinnacle

SUNDAY (4/17) - SECOND COLLECTION – THE
ARCHDIOCESE FOR THE MILITARY SERVICES,
USA (AMS) was established by Pope John Paul II in 1985,
to provide the Church’s full range of pastoral minisries
to those in the United States Armed Forces. The mission of the Archdiocese is to “serve those who serve”
by providing the same pastoral care and services as any
other Catholic is able to receive, but to Catholics serving in the Armed Forces, enrolled in military academies, undergoing treatment at any of the 153 Department of Veterans Affairs’ Medical Centers in the US,
Puerto Rico and Guam; working in civilian jobs for
the federal government beyond the US borders; and
their families, this unfortunately is not always the case.
The Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA is the
only source of Catholic Chaplains for the US military and
Department of Veterans’ Affairs Medical Centers. Its endorsed Priests and Deacons are responsible for pastoral
care to approximately 1.8 million Catholics in the US.
While the salaries and retirement of military and VA
Chaplains are paid for by the government, The Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA receives no funding
from the military or the government in support of programs and services vital to its mission and ministry, including: vocations, evangelizaton and catechesis, the keeping
of sacramental records, a tribunal, and verterans affairs.
The AMS has no parishes, no weekly collection and
must rely solely on the generosity of private donations to
support its programs and services. We, therefore, most
prayerfully ask for your very thoughtful generosity in
helping to provide Catholic services, programs and services to those protecting our freedom and keeping us safe,
Let’s do our part in helping to keep their spiritual well
bring safe.
SACRED HEART HIGH SCHOOL’S DRAMA CLUB

Church Hall (34 Convent Pl.) Yonkers. Tickets are: $10.00
per person for general admission and $8.00 for students
and senior citizens. For further information and reservations, call: 914 965-6953.
LOOKING FOR ALL 50TH ANNIVERSARY COUPLES
- Couples celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary
anytime during 2016 are invited to attend the Annual
Golden Anniversary Jubilee Mass with Celebrant, Cardinal Dolan at the Cathedral of St. Patrick on Saturday,
June 25th at 1:30 PM and also on Sunday, June 26th at 2
PM. Pre-registration IS REQUIRED. Please contact your
parish for registration. The closing date to register for the
Mass is TUESDAY, MAY 17th. This event is sponsored by
The Pro-Life/Respect Life of the Archdiocese of New York.
2016 STEWARDSHIP APPEAL - At the mid-point in
this year’s Cardinal’s Stewardship Appeal, unfortunately,
we must sadly report that only 25 families in our Parish
have made their commitment to the Stewardship Appeal
bringing our tally to $6,430 - realizing approximately 40%
of our $16,000 goal. It would be wonderful if we could
achieve our goal or even exceed it. The Appeal needs all of
us to do our part in order for our Parish to be successful.
PLEASE make as generous a commitment as possible; it’s
NOT too late! Thank you
TRZECA NIEDZIELA WIELKANOCNA
Jedynie
trzykrotnie pyta go o miłość.
okazją do poznania bezmiaru miłosierdzia Pana.
Grzech
powierzony Jego miłosierdziu staje się „błogosławioną
winą”, która unaocznia nam naszą słabość i uczy nas polegania na Bogu.
NIEDZIELA (4/10) - Nabożeństwo do Miłosierdzia
Bożego ( w jęz. polkim) o godz. 9:30 AM (przed Mszą św.
po polsku o godz. 10:00 AM).
NIEDZIELA (4/10) - DRUGA KOLEKTA - REGIONAL SCHOOL TAX-Wszyskim
ofiarodawcom składamy serdeczne Bóg zapłać! Przeznaczone będą do tego specjalne niebieskie koperty.
WARTO WIEDZIEĆ...
Sakrament pokuty i pojednania, zwany popularnie spowiedzią, jest sakramentem, w którym możemy
uzyskać pojednanie z Bogiem i Kościołem, czyli odpuszczenie wszystkich naszych grzechów (por. KKK 1422).
Sakrament spowiedzi został ustanowiony przez Jezusa,
który władzę odpuszczania grzechów dał Apostołom,
a oni przekazali je kapłanom. Jezus powiedział do
Apostołów: ‘Weźmijcie Ducha Świętego, którym grzechy
odpuścicie, są im odpuszczone, a którym zatrzymacie są
im zatrzymane’ (por. KKK 1461-1462). Mówiąc o spowiedzi, możemy używać różnych nazw, które wprowadzają
nas w całe bogactwo tego sakramentu. Można mówić, że
spowiedź to:
sakrament nawrócenia, ponieważ urzeczywistnia w
sposób sakramentalny wezwanie Jezusa do nawrócenia,
przez grzech;
sakrament pokuty, ponieważ ukazuje osobistą i eklezjalną
drogę nawrócenia, skruchy i zadośćuczynienia ze strony
grzesznego chrześcijanina;
sakrament spowiedzi, ponieważ oskarżenie - spowiedź z
grzechów przed kapłanem jest istotnym elementem tego
sakramentu; sakrament ten jest również “wyznaniem”,
uznaniem i uwielbieniem świętości Boga oraz Jego
miłosierdzia wobec grzesznego człowieka;
sakrament przebaczenia, ponieważ przez sakramentalne rozgrzeszenie wypowiedziane słowami kapłana Bóg
udziela penitentowi “przebaczenia i pokoju”;
1423-1424).
