First Call for Papers
Dear colleagues,
We have a pleasure of inviting you to participate in the International Conference devoted to wide scope
of themes related to kindergarten and early school education, to continue the debate and exchange experiences
related to these subjects.
The purpose of the conference
The conference is dedicated to academics and university lecturers, representatives of central and local
educational authorities, non-governmental organizations, kindergarten and early school teachers.
The purpose of the conference is to undertake the academic discussion related to the subjects grouped in
the following specific themes:

Ten years of educational reforms in Poland- a change or maintenance of status quo.
First and foreign language learning in early education.
Math and science education in kindergarten and school.
A child and his/her peers in their educational milieu
The parents and the teacher – enemies or partners?
A creative teacher – a creative child.
A culturally and socially neglected child.
Educating teachers versus contemporary educational requirements
Conference time and venue
The conference is planned for September 16th-17th, 2010 on the premises of the University of Warsaw
(the Faculty of Law and Administration) – ul. Lipowa 4, 00-316 Warszawa.
Presentation options
During the conference there will be several options of presentation:
- plenary paper presentations – plenary sessions
- participants’ paper presentations within thematic groups – 15 minutes
- workshops in thematic groups – 60 minutes
The scope of subjects of specific thematic groups and workshops is described in the section: The
purpose of the conference. The Academic Board will select the papers for presentations during the conference.
The organizers will provide multimedia projectors with PC computers and overhead projectors or other
visual aids if necessary.
Conference publication
We are planning to issue a post-conference publication. The Academic Board will select the articles for
publication. The articles submitted for publication will undergo editorial procedure. The detailed information
regarding the preparation of the materials for publication will be included in the second call for the conference.

Conference fee and payment deadlines:
The conference fee is 120 € if the payment is done by March 31st, 2010. After this date the conference
fee is higher - 140 €. The payment should be done to the following bank account:

The conference fee includes: conference materials, the post-conference publication, board (lunch,
tea/coffee breaks) and a formal dinner. Additionally, we would like to invite you to participate in a joint visit to
the Warsaw Chamber Opera (September 17th, 2010, evening). Approximate cost - 25 €.

Sending in the registration forms with the paper’s title and the summary in English – by March 31st,
2010
Sending in the conference fee - by March 31st, 2010 – 120 €, between April 1st and May 31st, 2010 –
fee is 140 €.
The second call – May 15th, 2010.
Sending in the complete paper (in English) – by September 16th, 2010 or supplying it during the
conference.
The conference dates: September 16th-17th, 2010.
