Legislation related to the design treatment plants . Principles of inflow wastewater balance for municipal
wastewater treatment plants (WWTP). Effluent quality parameters. Creation of WWTP location plan. Sewage
grinders – types, design. Grit tanks - types, design. Grease traps. Clarifiers - types, inlets, outlets, technical
guidelines, dimensioning. Biofilters - types, construction, technological parameters, performance, design
(Rumpf method, ATV A135 method).Technological parameters of activated sludge method . Activated
sludge chambers - technological parameters, design on the base of historical and Kayser or HSG guidelines.
Calculations biological reactors type SBR (ATV A210P guidelines). Dimensioning equipment for chemical or
biological removal of phosphorus.
