Bus & tram
Warsaw has an extensive tram and bus network. Most buses operate from around
05:00 until about 23:00. 'Fast buses' have
red numbers.
Underground(metro)
Warsaw’s underground has one short line
(about 15 km), which joins the north city
with its southern part: Kabaty. The metro
operates between 5:00 and 23:15, and the
trains run every 5 minutes during rush
hours, and every 8 minutes outside rush
hours.

Tickets for public transportation:
A single (one-way) ticket costs 2.80 PLN; it
is valid just for one means of transportation; each time sou change, you will need
another ticket. A 24-hour ticket costs 9 PLN
and entitles you to as many changes as you
wish (bus, tram, metro) for 24 hours. A 3day ticket costs 16 PLN and a 7-day ticket
costs 32 PLN. Each ticket has to be validated immediately after you get on a bus/tram. As for the metro, you will have to validate your ticket at the metro gate. Keep
your ticket ready for inspection at all times!
You can buy the tickets in all kiosks/shops
that sell journals and magazines etc.

From the “Fryderyk Chopin Airport” :
go to the metro station “Dworzec Gdański” (about 1
km from the hotel, 10 minutes walking), choose the
direction “Kabaty” and travel to the stop called
“Stokłosy”. Then you can either go on foot following
the signs „NHE 2008” -see attached map (it will take
about 20 minutes to get to the building 32) or take bus
No 136 and go 1 stop.
bus No 148 to the bus stop “SGGW – klinika” (about
19 stops; it takes about 25 minutes to get there).
This stop is right at the University campus; you will
see the building immediately, on your left.
or go to the shuttle bus (”Novotel Centrum hotel”) by tram no 35.
go to the metro station “Centrum” (about 300 m
from the Railway Station), choose the direction
“Kabaty” and travel to the stop called “Stokłosy”.
Then you can either go on foot (it will take about 20

The campus is quite away from the city center so it can take some time (40– 50 min.,
depending on the traffic) to get to the venue
from the hotel. We have organized shuttle
bus service between the hotel via Novotel
Centrum Hotel and the campus.

Zach.” and travel to the stop called ”Ursynów Płn.”

just walk—it takes about 10 minutes (see attached the
Campus map).
Taxis are available all day long. They charge lower
fares between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Taxi drivers usually do not speak English, so show
the driver the address written in Polish.
Be careful and if you do not want to risk being overcharged, take a radio taxi: e.g. 96 23 or 96 28
(Halo, Okey); 96 24 (Korpo); 96 67 (Bayer); 96 87
(Tele).
The starting fare is about 6 PLN, and then each kilometre costs about 2-3 PLN (Mon-Fri) or about 4-5
PLN (Sat-Sun), depending on the taxi corporation.
Taxi drivers usually prefer cash, however, it is often
possible to pay with a credit card as well.
Hotel taxis are more expensive.
You can ask for receipt ( in Polish rachunek).
