Description
WSDL and UDDI are likely to be not adequate for all application. There are new efforts, e.g.,
Web Service Activity of W3C, established for creating new standards for service description
and composition.
We are going to contribute to the new emerging standards.
The goal of the group is focused on the long-term effort for creating service description and
composition methods in Agentcities.
Objectives
Identify requirements for services in Agentcities (composition, reuse, representation,
use, …)
Provide technologies for dynamic service representation, composition, reuse
Test and evaluate multiple service description and composition methods in
Agentcities Network
Plan of Work
Provide a comprehensive overview of service architectures for a common basis of
discussion.
Analyze the existing methods and methodologies (e.g., service brokering vs.
matchmaking)

CCL
Analyze existing technologies and its suitability for deployment in the Network:
Web Services ( WS Activity of W3C / WSDL / UDDI) - in cooperation with
"Integrating Web Services into Agentcities" WG;
GRID/P2P - in cooperation with “Network Architecture” WG;
B2Bi - in cooperation with "Business Process Infrastructure" WG
Identify components required to support services representation and composition in
the Agentcities Network.
Organize two workshops on service description and composition within the framework
of Agentcities Information Days
Organize email-discussion list
Output
Produce service representation language requirements document
Produce technology recommendations for (semantic-oriented) services composition
