One of the things I
have learned as a
parent is this: when a
family member is
going through a rough
time and I don’t know
what to do, I just need
to love him or her through it. That’s become a
kind of mantra for my wife and me because it
works. When we come to the end of our rope and
don’t know what the “right” thing to do is, we’ll
say, “We can love her through it.” Inviting love
into the equation is to invite God into the mix.
Bringing our uncertainty and worry into the light
of Christ allows us to focus less on the problem
and more on the person. God is love, and those
who abide in love, abide in God. That is my wish
for you and your family. - Tom McGrath

50-Year Reunion for the Class of '64 A few folks from the
Class of '64 are in the process of planning a 50-year reunion to
be held this fall. If you are from this class or know the
whereabouts of anyone who graduated in 1964, please send an
email to [email protected]. They would love to hear
from you!
Jedną z rzeczy, której
nauczyłem się będąc
rodzicem jest to, że
kiedy ktoś z rodziny
przechodzi trudny
skuteczne. Kiedy dochodzimy do kresu
„prawidłową rzeczą” do zrobienia, mówimy:
„Możemy kochać mocniej w tym trudnym czasie”.
Zaproszenie miłości, aby wprowadzić równowagę,
jest zaproszeniem miłości to rozwiązania konkretnego
zagmatwania. Przynoszenie naszych niepewności i trosk do
ciebie i twojej rodziny. - Tom McGrath

THE WOMEN'S CENTER
5116 North Cicero Avenue, Chicago, IL 60630 (773)794-1313
We celebrated Father’s Day this month and many fathers feel a deep loss and sadness due to the abortion of their child. At the
Women’s Center, we reduce the number of abortions by approximately 1,000 babies saved each year. We are able to do this because
of our counseling, and the spiritual and material help which you enable us to provide our mothers and fathers.
We need strong Furniture Room volunteers Thursdays from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. or 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. to distribute baby furniture
and to serve as a lobby/front desk substitute. A volunteer is needed on Saturdays who speaks Spanish to return phone calls that come
into our Counseling Office. We have excellent opportunities for individuals or friends to work together; cleaning baby bottles used
for our “spare change” fundraising. This work is done anytime Monday thru Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m and all this work is
done at our Chicago office.
Baby diapers in sizes 1, 4, 5 and 6, maternity, baby and children’s (up to size 14) clothing in good condition are needed for our
Resource Room. These must be delivered to us unless accompanied by baby
furniture. To volunteer your help or donate, call Jackie at 773-794-8807 or
email [email protected].
We are happy to pass on your used baby equipment to mothers who cannot
afford to buy it. Our wish list includes: 4 infant/toddler car seats, 3 fixed side
cribs, 3 crib mattresses, 4 toddler beds, 2 high chairs, 4 strollers, 2 double
strollers, 4 bouncers, 5 pack n plays, 3 swings, 2 changing tables and 3 walkers. If your neighbors have a garage sale or if you attend one, please ask the
sellers to donate items to us because our need is a great one. A receipt for all
donations for tax purposes is available. It will be a great help if you can deliver these to us. For our address, or if a pick-up by a volunteer is needed,
please call 773-794-1313.
The Women’s Center czerwiec 2014
W czerwcu obchodzimy Dzień Ojca. Wielu ojców odczuwa wielką stratę i głęboki smutek związany z aborcją ich dziecka. Poprzez
ocalenie przeciętnie około 1,000 dzieci rocznie - The Women’s Center obniża liczbę aborcji. Możemy to czynić poprzez fachową
konsultację, duchową i materialna pomoc, którą umożliwiacie nam, abyśmy mogli wspomagać nasze matki i naszych ojców.
biurku.
starszych dzieci; 2 stoliczki do karmienia; 4 wózeczki; 2 podwójne wózeczki; 4 urządzenia do skakania dla dziecka [tzw. bouncers];
5 kompletów z potrzebnymi rzeczami dla dziecka, kiedy wychodzimy z domu, tzw. „pack and plays; 3 huśtawki; 2 stoliczki do
do rozliczenia podatkowego. Będzie to dla nas wielkim ułatwieniem, jeśli sami te rzeczy do nas dostarczycie. Aby uzyskać adres,
lub aby zgłosić by ktoś odebrał mebelki prosimy do nas dzwonić na numer 773-794-1313.

Pope Benedict XVI spoke in 2012 about his worry that
religious liberty in the United States is being weakened. He called religious liberty the “most cherished of
American freedoms.” Unfortunately, our most cherished freedom is under threat:

 HHS mandate for sterilization, contraception, and
abortion-inducing drugs. The mandate of the Department of Health and Human Services forces
religious institutions to facilitate and/or fund a
product contrary to their own moral teaching. Further, the federal government tries to define which
religious institutions are “religious enough” to
merit protection of their religious liberty.

could rent the same schools for many other uses.
Litigation in this case continues.
Discrimination against Catholic humanitarian
services. After years of excellent performance by
the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Migration and Refugee Services (MRS) in administering
contract services for victims of human trafficking,
the federal government changed its contract specifications to require MRS to provide or refer for
contraceptive and abortion services in violation of
Catholic teaching.
