Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The annual Retirement Fund for Religious Appeal has provided much needed assistance to
women and men religious who have faithfully and
generously served in our schools, hospitals, parishes and communities for years. Our Church and
our nation have been blessed beyond measure
by these dedicated religious. They ministered in the spirit of the Gospel, asking little in return.
The people of the Archdiocese of Chicago have always responded
very generously to this collection, contributing over $1.3 million last
year alone. I am very proud of your willingness to share in the care of
our aging women and men religious. Your charity is deeply appreciated.
Soon, your parish priests or religious themselves will speak to you
about the ongoing needs facing our aging religious. I urge you to remember these generous women and men by continuing to be generous in return.
As we celebrate the hope and promise of the Advent season, let us
work together to spread the peace of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. May
God bless you and your loved ones. You are in my prayers; please
keep me in yours.

YOU ARE INVITED…..
Fr. Thomas Zielinski,CSsR will lead the students in Grades 4
through 8 in prayers of Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on
Wednesday, December 5 from 1:45pm to 2:15pm in the church.
Adults are welcome to join the children in prayer.
The school children will participate in the
Parish Concert that will be held on Friday,
December 14th in the Church. They will
join with all of our parish choirs to ring in
the Christmas season. Parents, relatives and all parishioners are
invited to this special event!
STAY TUNED - a new documentary, “Pope John Paul II: a
Saint of Our Times,” will premier on WTTW, Channel 11 at
7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 6. His story is told in
music, images and the pope’s own words in many languages. As the Vatican studies his life, the film “seeks to
enlighten and inspire on the key themes that defined his
papacy.” REMEMBER TO MARK THIS TIME AND DATE

The Immaculate Conception and a Girl named Bernadette:
The title of the Immaculate
Conception refers to Mary
being free from original sin.
Pope Pius IX declared this
teaching as dogma on December 8, 1854.
Just a few years later in
1858, this title would forever be associated with
the town of Lourdes, France, when Mary appeared to St. Bernadette Soubirous saying she was the Immaculate Conception.
Mary requested that a church be built on the site and also revealed the location of a spring. Today, pilgrims from around the
world continue to visit this site each year seeking spiritual and
physical healing.
Cardinal George plans to rededicate the Archdiocese of Chicago to Mary as its patron under the title of the Immaculate
Conception on December 8, 2007.
Catholics from around the archdiocese are invited to join
Cardinal George next August on a pilgrimage to Lourdes,
France, to mark the 150th anniversary of Mary’s appearance to
St. Bernadette. For information, visit wwww.archchicago.org.
The feast of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation is celebrated this year on Saturday, December 8. Please

Matthew 24:37-44
Today, as we begin a new Advent season, Jesus
is asking us to be on watch. We tend to relegate
this command to simply keeping guard: guarding
our minds against sin, guarding our bodies against
over-indulgence, and guarding our families against harm. However, this
is only one part of the picture. Our Catholic faith tells us that we cannot
live this Christian life solely by our own power-by our own watchfulness.
We need the grace of God if we want to become like Christ.
So whether we are at Mass, saying the rosary, sitting before the Lord
in adoration, or lying in bed at night, the Lord asks us to “watch” by fixing our eyes on him and opening our ears to his still, small voice.
Of course, we can come to the Lord in a number of different frames of
mind. And-of course-some are better than others. We can be preoccupied or caught up in daydreaming. As you might expect, this is not all
that effective. Worse, we can be hardhearted, as if we were telling Jesus: “I don’t want you to tell me what to do. My way is better than your
way. And this is only one step above being proud. The last thing we
want is to come to the Lord with an attitude that is always comparing
ourselves favorably against others. This leaves us so caught up in ourselves that it’s almost impossible to see how Jesus wants to minister to
us.
A better approach would be to come with a heart of petition. It’s always good to pray for our needs, and the needs of others. But there is
another form of prayer that is better still: seeking Jesus—and especially
at Mass. The more we ask Jesus to fill us with his grace, the more we
will find his presence. And finding his presence, we will find everything
we need. May we all make this a watchful Advent in the fullest sense of
the word.
Holy Spirit, I know you live in me. Help me to open the eyes of my
heart so that I can see the wonders of the Kingdom of God this Advent..

BE ALERT!....
A new movie, THE GOLDEN COMPASS, is set to be released on December 7, 2007 throughout the U.S. and translated into 32 different languages as well. The movie is based on a trilogy, HIS DARK MATERIALS.
The author, Phillip Pullman, an atheist and secular humanist, has said in
an interview that this trilogy concentrates upon this theme: “I Want to kill
GOD in the minds of Children….I want them to decide against God and
the Kingdom of Heaven.” THE GOLDEN COMPASS, a sanitized version
of the book, wants to have children and young people rebel against parents, teachers, the Church, and anyone in authority. Please avoid going

Posadas” en Social Center a

en ella. La entrada gratis.
Las Posadas son una actuación de la penuria que pasaron San José y La Virgen
María para encontrar posada o albergue en su viaje a Belén para
cumplir con el Censo de acuerdo con las Escrituras. En español
les llamamos "Los Santos Peregrinos José y María". Cada familia en un barrio se turna una noche y celebra con una posada en
su casa; empiezan 16 de diciembre y terminan el 24 en la Noche
Buena.

La Colecta Anual para el Fondo de Jubilación de
Religiosas y Religiosos, ha proporcionado mucha
de la tan necesitada asistencia a todas estas personas que han llevado a cabo su ministerio, pidiendo muy poco a cambio. La colecta para esta
finalidad se llevara a cabo el día 9 de Diciembre
de 2007.
Es la campaña para responder a la necesidad de jubilación que
tienen las religiosas y religiosos, quienes por tantos años, generoso e incansablemente, ha ofrecido sus servicios en nuestras
escuelas, hospitales, parroquias y comunidades. Estos religiosos generosos han sido una bendición para nuestra Iglesia y
nuestra nación más allá de todo lo esperado.
Invitamos cordialmente a participar en la
Novena de Nuestra Señora Virgen de Guadalupe. La novena empezara el día 3 de diciembre y va a terminar con la Fiesta de la
Virgen de Guadalupe el día 12 de diciembre.
Cada día de la novena vamos a rezar el rosario y celebrar la Misa, habrá la posibilidad
de confesión media hora antes de la Misa.

I Niedziela Adwentu
Jezus powiedział do swoich uczniów: Jak było za dni
Noego, tak będzie z przyjściem Syna Człowieczego.
Albowiem jak w czasie przed potopem jedli i pili, żenili się i za mąż wydawali aż do dnia, kiedy Noe wszedł
do arki, i nie spostrzegli się, aż przyszedł potop i pochłonął wszystkich, tak również będzie z przyjściem
Syna Człowieczego. Wtedy dwóch będzie w polu: jeden będzie wzięty, drugi zostawiony. Dwie będą mleć
na żarnach: jedna będzie wzięta, druga zostawiona.
Czuwajcie więc, bo nie wiecie, w którym dniu Pan
wasz przyjdzie. A to rozumiejcie: Gdyby gospodarz
wiedział, o której porze nocy złodziej ma przyjść, na
pewno by czuwał i nie pozwoliłby włamać się do swego domu. Dlatego i wy bądźcie gotowi, bo w chwili,
której się nie domyślacie, Syn Człowieczy przyjdzie.

Fundusz Emerytalny
W niedzielę 9-go grudnia we wszystkich kościołach w Stanach Zjednoczonych prowadzona
jest zbiórka funduszy na siostry i braci zakonnych, którzy ofiarnie służyli na różnych polach
działalności misyjnej i duszpasterskiej Kościoła. Dziś
może są bez środków do życia. Dlatego w miarę naszych możliwości wesprzyjmy ten piękny cel.
Parafia Marki Bożej Częstochowskiej wyraża swoją wdzięczność
tym wszystkim, którzy posługują w
niej: jako lektorzy, szafarze eucharystii, chórzyści, marszałkowie,
przewodniczący organizacji parafialnych, tym którzy sprzątają lub
spełniają jakiekolwiek inne posługi
dla dobra parafii.
Specjalna kolacja dla wszystkich osób zaangażowanych będzie miała miejsce 12-go stycznia 2008 roku w
Social Center. Przyjęcie jest tylko i wyłącznie dla osób
dorosłych, którzy ukończyli 18 lat. Prosimy o wypełnienie poniższej formy i wyrzucenie do koszyka wraz z
niedzielną kolektą do 6-go stycznia 2008.

Prawda o Niepokalanym Poczęciu Maryi
jest dogmatem wiary. Ogłosił go uroczyście 8 grudnia 1854 r. bullą Ineffabilis
Deus Pius IX. Uczynił to w Bazylice św.
Piotra w Rzymie w obecności 54 kardynałów i 140 arcybiskupów i biskupów. Pisał
on tak: Ogłaszamy, orzekamy i określamy,
że nauka, która utrzymuje, iż Najświętsza
Maryja Panna od pierwszej chwili swego
poczęcia - mocą szczególnej łaski i przywileju wszechmocnego Boga, mocą przewidzianych zasług Jezusa Chrystusa, Zbawiciela rodzaju ludzkiego - została zachowana nietknięta od wszelkiej zmazy grzechu pierworodnego,
jest prawdą przez Boga objawioną i dlatego wszyscy wierni
powinni w nią wytrwale i bez wahania wierzyć.

Msze św. w Pierwszy Piątek Miesiąca (7 grudnia) jak i w Uroczystość Niepokalanego Poczęcia NMP (8 grudnia) zostaną odprawione o godzinie 8:00PM
Rekolekcje Adwentowe
Informujemy, że 16-go grudnia, III niedziela
adwentu, rozpoczną się rekolekcje adwentowe
w naszej parafii. Rekolekcje będzie prowadził
O. Tadeusz Gieniec - Redemptorysta pracujący w Boliwii. Rekolekcje trwać będą do środy
19-go grudnia. Msze św. oprócz niedzieli będą celebrowane
każdego dnia o godzinie 12:00PM i o 7:00PM. Przed Mszą
św. możliwość spowiedzi. Serdecznie zapraszamy do udziału
w rekolekcjach.
Wszystkich członków Rady Parafialnej i Rady Ekonomicznej
zapraszamy na zebranie które odbędzie się dnia 5 grudnia
(środa) o godzinie 7:00PM na plebanii. Dziękujemy za poświęcony czas
