New Religious Education Class
In the 2015-2016 school year, we will be offering a
Continuing Education class for young people ages
14-17 who have already received the Sacrament of
Confirmation. Father Janusz will be teaching this
class to continue formation in the Faith and to provide important ways to meet the contemporary
problems that Catholics face. If you are interested,

of the trip to the World Youth Day – Krakow 2016
“Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. … God loves a cheerful
giver” (2 Cor 9:6, 7b).
25 young men and women from our parish are going to travel in July next year to the World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland.
It is a wonderful opportunity to enrich their faith while attending the evangelization events, concerts, youth rallies and a
Holy Mass with the Pope. It is also a time to learn about the history of Poland and Europe while visiting different historic
sites such as Kraków, Wieliczka Salt Mines, Auschwitz, Częstochowa, Wadowice and others. And of course it is a time
of making new friends from all over the world. The total cost of the trip is about $2700. Since not all of the young
people who have signed up for the trip can fully pay the expenses, I kindly ask for your financial support. Please, become
a sponsor of our trip. Every donation counts and it is TAX DEDUCTIBLE. You can make checks payable to “OLA
Church”, write in the memo: “WYD 2016.”

Registrations and Re-registrations for the
2015-2016 school year are now closed. There
are no exceptions. Classes will start the last
week of September. Parents will receive the
Class Schedule either by email or by regular
mail very soon.
Our Religious Education Program is in urgent
need of Teachers (Catechists),Teacher’s Assistants, Hall Monitors, and Substitute Teachers
for every grade level. Please consider offering
your time and talents to prepare our children
for the reception of the sacraments, and to instill in them knowledge of our Catholic faith. A
catechist is not necessarily a person who has
studied Theology and Scripture or an experienced teacher.

Assumption Rosary Altar Society is all about. As you know, we are a
Parish working group which has a foundation in honoring our Blessed
Mother. Our monthly meetings are from September to June at which
time we take great pleasure in coming together to plan special
devotions, various fund raisers, decorate our Altars for special occasions
(With your generous support) and take care of the Mass Linens. We

Knights of Columbus Council 9267
The Knights of Columbus is sponsoring a Soccer Challenge on Sat. Sept. 12 at Amityville Beach. Must be
ages 9 - 14.Must bring a birth certificate . Registration
is from 8 - 9am Competition begins at 9 AM and ends
at 12.
Flapjack Fundraiser at. Applebee's (600 N. Wellwood
Avenue, Lindenhurst ) on Saturday, September 19th
8am-10am the cost is $10. The breakfast will consist of:
pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, and a beverage of coffee, orange juice, soda or tea. Tickets will
be sold following all masses. The proceeds of this
event will be utilized for various scholarships.

mala gana ni por obligación, porque Dios ama al dador alegre” (2 Corintios 9: 6, 7b)
25 jóvenes de nuestra parroquia viajarán en Julio del
próximo año al Día Mundial de la Juventud en Krakow,
Polonia. Esta es una magnifica oportunidad para enriquecer su fe mientras asisten a eventos de evangelización,
conciertos, reuniones juveniles y a la Santa Misa con el
Papa. También es tiempo para aprender sobre la historia
de Polonia y Europa, al mismo tiempo que visitan diferentes sitios históricos tales como Krakow, Wieliczka, Salt
Mines, Auschiwitz, Częstochowa, Wadowice y otros. Y
por supuesto es tiempo para hacer nuevos amigos de todas
partes del mundo. El costo total del viaje es alrededor
de $2700. Ya que no todos los jóvenes que se han anotado para el viaje pueden pagar el total de los gastos, yo
gentilmente les pido su apoyo financiero. Por favor, sea

Grupa młodzieży z naszej parafii w liczbie 25 osób wybiera się w następnym roku w lipcu na Światowe Dni Młodzieży
w Krakowie. Będzie to dla nich świetna okazja, aby pogłębić swoją wiarę poprzez uczestnictwo w katechezach i spotkaniach ewangelizacyjnych. Będzie to też sposobny czas, aby pogłębić swoją wiedzę o historii Polski i Europy podczas zwiedzania ciekawych miejsc takich jak Kraków, Wieliczka, Oświęcim, Częstochowa, Wadowice, Zakopane i innych.
Z pewnością będzie to też czas radości i nowych przyjaźni z młodzieżą z całego świata. Koszt całej wyprawy to około
$2700 . Niestety niektórzy z zdeklarowanych uczestników tej wyprawy nie są w stanie zapłacić całej sumy. Proszę więc Was
o wsparcie tej inicjatywy. Każda donacja się liczy i może być ODLICZONA OD PODATKU (TAX DEDUCTIBLE).
Donacje można składać czekiem lub gotówką na naszą parafię (na czeku wpisać „OLA Church” z dopiskiem na dole „WYD
2016”).

INTENCJE MSZALNE
Przyjmujemy intencje na Msze św. na rok 2015.
Ofiara za intencję wynosi $15. Intencje należy zamawiać w kancelarii parafialnej w godzinach pracy. Nie
przyjmujemy intencji przez telefon.
Można również uczcić pamięć swoich bliskich poprzez
złożenie donacji na Eucharystyczny Chleb i Wino na
wybrany tydzień . ($50) : w intencji osób żyjących
(z okazji rocznicy, urodzin lub w intencji dziękczynnej)
lub w intencji osób zmarłych.

loterii bilety na Mszę św., którą Papież Franciszek

18:30. Osoby, które pragnęłyby uczestniczyć w tej
Mszy św. proszone są o pobranie aplikacji (ticket
request form) w swojej parafii lub na diecezjalnej

drvc.org>) i zwrócenie jej najpóźniej do czwartku
10 września. Osoby, ktore wylosują bilety zostaną

RELIGIA DLA UCZNIÓW

W roku szkolnym 2015-16 oferujemy bezpłatną
klasę religii dla młodzieży szkół średnich . Zajęcia w
jęz. ang. będą odbywały się we wtorki wieczorem i
prowadzone będą przez Ks. Janusza. Osoby zainteresowane prosimy o telefonowanie do Biura

SPOTKANIE KÓŁKA RÓŻAŃCOWEGO
Spotkanie Kółka Różacowego odbędzie się w dzisiejszą niedzielę 6 września po Mszy św. wieczornej
w języku polskim, w sali pod kościołem. Początek
spotkania około godz. 18:00.

CENTRUM EDUKACJI RELIGIJNEJ
Zapisy uczniów nowych oraz zapisy ponowne na rok
szkolny 2015-16 zostały zakończone. Nie będzie
wyjątków. Zajęcia rozpoczną się w ostatnim tygodniu
września. Rozkład zajęć zostanie wkrótce wysłany do
rodziców pocztą tradycyjną lub elektroniczną.
Nasz program pilnie potrzebuje nauczycieli katechezy. Potrzebni są także asystenci nauczycieli, osoby
pilnujące porządku na korytarzach (hall monitors) oraz
nauczyciele na zastępstwa do wszystkich klas.
Prosimy Państwa o rozważenie możliwości poświęcenia swojego czasu i talentów na przygotowanie
naszych dzieci do przyjęcia sakramentów oraz na
przekazanie im wiedzy o naszej wierze katolickiej.
Nauczyciel katechezy nie musi być osobą, która
studiowała teologię oraz Pismo Święte lub która jest
doświadczonym nauczycielem.

Sesja programu szkoleniowego Virtus w języku
polskim w naszej parafii odbędzie się w piątek 18
września 2015 r. , w godz: 18:00-21:00 w sali pod
kościołem.
Rejestracja uczestników kursu odbywa się wyłącznie drogą internetową:www.drvc.org Virtus onLine. Przypominamy, że wszyscy wolontariusze
parafialni muszą wyrazić zgodę na sprawdzenie
swojej przeszłości. Potrzebne formy dostępne są
w kancelarii parafialnej.
UWAGA: Muszą Państwo zarejestrować się drogą
internetową. Osoby, które się nie zarejestrują, nie
mogą wziąć udziału w kursie. Jeżeli nie mają

Do we really need an international study to
tell us this?
For the past few weeks we have been
listening to Jesus telling us that he is the Bread of
Life and that whoever believes in him and eats this
bread will have eternal life.
Who will be happier, a traveler on a
highway to a “dead end” or one travelling to a
beautiful vacation spot?
The researchers further found that
“participating in a religious organization was the
only social activity associated with sustained
happiness”. Once again, would not the travelers be
happiest travelling with like minded companions?
The study also maintains that religion plays
an important role as a “coping mechanism during
periods of illness in later life”.
Consider that as Catholics we have the
Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick for just this
purpose. And it is much more than a “coping
mechanism”. It is a source of grace and strength
for the traveler.
Consider further that as Catholics, we have
the sacrament of Reconciliation, and that as
husband and wife, couples have the graces of the
sacrament of Matrimony. Truly we have received
a great gift in our Catholic Faith!
