Film and Art Festival TWO RIVERSIDES
Film and Art Festival TWO RIVERSIDES
legendary of all summer events
Today, five years after its birth, the Festival has become one of the major film industry events,
presenting the most valuable Polish and foreign pictures (including premieres, previous year
the most significant works of the world cinematography), plays, exhibitions and other cultural events.
The idea behind the Festival is the attempt to build a bridge connecting two riversides of Vistula, i.e. to
bridge the gap between film masterpieces and new trends in cinematography, to reconcile disparate
views on the purpose of cinematic art, to blend genres and unite different cultures by juxtaposing art
projects from various parts of the world. From the very beginning of its existence, the critics would pay
attention to its extraordinary approach to film art: the central theme of the Festival is the attempt to
connect the author of a piece of literature, music or art
with the audience. Two Riversides sees films not only as motion pictures, but, above all, as a fusion of
different forms of artistic creativity.
The Festival, which is held in Kazimierz Dolny and in Janowiec, comprises of premiere screenings of
films, reviews of actors
the Festival can watch a carefully selected collection of Polish and foreign films (e.g. from San Sebastian,
Rotterdam, Berlin, Cannes, Transylvania, Ljubljana, Bratislava, Koszalin, Gdynia), documentaries, short
films, animated clips and films, art and independent films, as well as films by the most talented young
filmmakers.
The major asset of the Festival is that it gives fans opportunity to meet their favourite artists
the red carpet, there is a festival cafe where cinemagoers can meet their idols.
The previous editions of the Festival received overwhelming response from the audience and the media,

east of the Vistula River. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th editions were considered international events and
European partners engaged in its organization. The artists who graced the Festival with their presence
include: Gustavo Santaolalla, Bob Rafelson, Jiří Menzel, Piotr Fudakowski, Carlos Do Carmo, Francis
