Roca, wiodacej na swiecie marki w sektorze wyposazenia łazienek. Galeria Roca w Barcelonie to propozycja
miejsca, gdzie produktów firmy mozna doswiadczyc poprzez róznego rodzaju wydarzenia towarzyskie,
kulturalne i ekspozycyjne (łaczy ona osrodek kulturalny z ekspozycja markowych produktów wyposazenia

Fasada budynku Galerii Roca w Barcelonie została zaprojektowana przy udziale zespołu projektantów
oswietlenia z firmy Artec 3, którzy zaproponowali całkowicie innowacyjna wizje projektu. Majac na celu
wywołanie pozytywnych emocji zwiazanych z woda i przekazanie wrazenia płynnosci i dynamiki budynku,
do budowy fasady uzyto szkła, aby stworzyc efekt przezroczystosci w ciagu dnia, a w porze nocnej efekt
wody spływajacej po zewnetrznych scianach budynku. Efekt ten osiagnieto poprzez zastosowanie
oswietlenia nadajacego budynkowi osobliwy charakter.
Wyzwaniem dla firmy LED&Co (Grupa LUXIONA) było odtworzenie efektu ruchu wody poprzez
oswietlenie szklanej powierzchni zewnetrznych scian budynku. Stworzenie iluzji płynacej wody wymagało
uzycia ogromnej ilosci niezaleznie sterowanych punktów swietlnych.
Najlepszym rozwiazaniem było zainstalowanie wysokiej mocy oswietlenia ledowego z uwagi na jego
niewielkie rozmiary, duza wydajnosc, trwałosc oraz mozliwosc sterowania za pomoca systemu DMX.
Zaprojektowano do tego celu specjalne oprawy niewielkich rozmiarów, łaczace po 36 diod LED,
zwiekszajace do maksimum uzyskiwana ilosc swiatła, aby osiagnac zamierzony w projekcie efekt.
Zdaniem Jordi Rocasalbas’a, Menadzera Działu Badan i Rozwoju firmy Led&Co, „szkło uzyte do wykonania
fasady ma zabarwienie zielone, a kiedy z góry do dołu pada na nie białe swiatło emitowane przed diody
LED, uzyskujemy kolor niebieski, tak samo jak zmienia sie kolor wody”.

Roca Barcelona Gallery, sensation of water using light.
The prestigious architecture studio of Carlos Ferrater OAB has designed the new flagship building of Roca,
a world leading global brand in the bathroom sector. Roca Gallery Barcelona is a brand experiential
concept where social, cultural and expositive activities take place (combines a cultural centre and
showroom, with the brand’s products on display). This new building raises an architectural challenge: how
to interpret and project the values of the brand through architecture.
The façade of the Roca Barcelona Gallery has been designed with the help of a team of lighting designers
from Artec3, with a completely innovative vision. With the aim of provoking positive emotions associated
with water and transmit a sense of fluidity and dynamism in the building, they have worked with a glass
façade to create a transparent effect both day and night, to reproduce the effect of water pouring down
the surface of the building. An effect that they manage by using light to give the building its own character
and personality.
The challenge for LED&Co was how to use light to reproduce this dynamic effect of gushing water covering
the whole of the outside of the building. To create this illusion of running water, the installation required a
large number of independently controllable lighting points.
The solution was to use high performance LEDs because of their small size, efficiency, durability and the
possibility of control, with a DMX system. They used specifically designed small luminaires that integrated
36 LEDs/m that maximised the light levels to achieve the effect that the project was aiming for.
According to Jordi Rocasalbas, Research and Development Manager at LED & Co, ‘the glass in the façade
has a green tint to it, and when we shine the white light from the LEDs into the glass from above and
below, it produces a blue effect the same colour as a body of water’.
The façade of the Roca Barcelona Gallery manages to use the sensation of light to imitate the different
states and behaviour of water and convert this ambitious architectural project in the heart of Barcelona into
a reality.
