Piotr Hercog
Age 39
Piotr Hercog is one of the best and most famous mountain ultra-runners in Poland. A part from
running he is a sports trainer, mountain climbing instructor and cave mountaineer. He lives in
Pasterka when he runs a hiking hostel PASTERKA in GóryStołowe.
Piotr has been involved with mountain sports for over 25 years now. For over 15 years he has
been specialized in high intensity mountain sports such as running. He also knows the running
“business” from the other side –he is the organizer of several mountain ultramarathons and

participants into the region of south – west Poland.
Piotr participated in dozen multidisciplinary races all over Poland and world, for example: AbuDhabi
Adventure Challenge, Adventure Race World Championship, AR Series. Since 2010 Piotr has
been focused on mountain ultramarathons, he was a winner or took high places in races like:
UTMB, Ultra Trail Maiorca, Transvulcania, Gore-Tex Transalpine, TransGranCanaria, UTMF.
In Poland Piotr is a three-time winner of famous BiegRzeźnika and he participated in many others
mountain races.
In 2014 Piotr took 9th place in the world in the ranking of ultra-runners (Ultra-Trail Word Tour
Series 2014 (UTWT).
